Sponsored Review: Hime Castle

After many months of debate I have finally decided that I'm going to post once a week, every Sunday! So now y'all have a day to look forward to reading my blog ;D

Please note that although this is a sponsored post, all of my thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Moving on, this post is sponsored by Hime Castle! They had emailed me asking if I was interested in a sponsorship, and I - of course - accepted. I had been eyeing their shop for quite a while and was really intrigued on their services and products!

I was quite surprised when I received their package, as I didn't know what they were going to send me! Was it going to be clothing, cosmetics, a wig... I was so excited but I took care when opening it.

Packaging ★★★★★
The item came in a sort of bag which (in my personal opinion) is a lot better as they fit much better in my letterbox. There was a cute little card alongside the item as well.

I just love how elegant the type is!

AND IT WAS A CUTE DRESS!

I didn't put it on until much later because I wanted to prepare my coord to make it look as pretty as possible. My initial thought to when I wore it was WHAT IS THAT COLDNESS ON MY BACK OMAGAAAAH IT'S SO COLD but then I realised it was actually the chain. Whoops. I made sure not to move that much until the chain got "warmer" and afterwards it was fine.

Merry Xmas, Take Two

Xmas is the time to spend with your family so for the whole day I found myself scoffing K's beautiful cupcakes that she made and lounging around in my pjs before I actually decided to get off my ass and doll up.
If it had been any other Xmas I would've been as excited as any other person on Xmas day but I just wasn't feeling it. But it was still nice to spend some time with the ones I loved.

In my last post you may have already seen my LOTD, but here are some more photos that I have to share with you :D

Merry Xmas Everyone!

I shouldn't be writing this post right now because I should be helping my mum out with the Xmas dinner but... I WANTED TO GIVE YOU ALL MY LOVE and hope that y'all have a wonderful Xmas! :D

Here's me in my onesie; I shall write a better post later on when I have time ^^

I love you all so very much <3 And never take things for granted, especially the ones you love <3

Treading Water

Wow okay this was totally not supposed to happen, but I just found myself with nothing to do and I thought: why don't I doll up? It's been ages since I've done so so I thought I'd give it a shot. As you may or may not already know that I haven't really had any quality time to myself as I've been doing lots of uni work - so it was nice to just relax and do nothing all day!

But because I haven't been blogging in so long or taking a break from my work (apart from yesterday's post) I found myself treading water; I'm not really going anywhere but I'm still trying to get through all of these barriers that are like waves crashing over me. I'm at loss of what to do and I just want to sit back and not have to worry about anything.

The thing is that I want to do my absolute best at getting the grades needed at uni to be a successful designer, and I'm just dying to get there.

Anyway, enough of this rambling and onto the photos! I'm going to do gal around once a week to keep me going for the #dandie challenge on instagram! #dandie is basically a gyaru tag game to where Danyy and Chaudie try to do our best gal look and post it in instagram. Anyone who wants more exposure to other gals are welcome to participate, and it's created by the lovely Chaudie and Danyy :D

I Feel Like A Chameleon; My Gyaru Wardrobe

I'm still not sure where I'm heading style-wise, and when a friend asked which style I would like to go for I replied: "I'm a bit of a chameleon when it comes to gyaru; I tend to like and wear all styles."

And it's true; I really do like all of the substyles of gyaru that I just can't stick to one! It's a bit annoying though because then I'm spending loads of money on different kind of clothes rather than saving up and buying only those that fit the substyle that I'm in. Guess I can't really help it.

But I need to stop buying clothes! It's crazy how much I lurk on gyaru sales to find items that I want to get my hands on even though I really shouldn't be spending. To help myself out a little bit I went along and gathered all of the clothes that I thought were gyaru-suitable and have taken pictures to show y'all
my gyaru wardrobe!

And So The Clock Keeps On Ticking

Well, hello stranger. It's been a while hasn't it?
I'm so sorry that it has been so long since I've last posted but I'm being overloaded in uni work. These past couple of weeks consisted of uni work, sleep, and work... I haven't worn makeup since because I keep thinking, "Oh well if I do makeup that means I need to get up earlier to do it, or I could get up early and do work at that time". It's so frustrating! ><

Anyway so the last time I dolled up was when my boyfriend came over to visit me; we hardly see each other because of the distance so I'm always happy when I see him! <3

Got all dressed up before uni~ And to my surprise I wasn't freezing my ass off even with those tights... I was ever so good because I didn't actually have to go to uni as my lecturers weren't in BUT I DID ANYWAY.

Not that I did much work, mind.

AREN'T I KAWAII DESU NE?
Aherm, so yeah. Onto the "real" photos...

The Jeans Are Back In Town, Baby

Please don't ask about the title OTL

Now that winter is coming (the Stark words! If you read/watch Game of Thrones you'll understand what I'm on about) it's getting more and more difficult to look good without having a massive cold afterwards. I used to always feel so lousy in jeans, but because they kept me warm... Well, I didn't really care.
But now I've started to wear woollen tights and I think; hold on, what if you haven't got any woollen tights? What if it was way too cold? This brings me back to the thought of wearing jeans.

It's so hard to look gal wearing jeans as most people find them too "casual", but I'm determined to make them work! So today I scrolled through tumblr, searched through all of my magazines, and have created some collages as a reference to me and - hopefully - for you as well!

Last Glimpse of the Sun

Was totally not supposed to post this until tomorrow, but I pressed "publish" instead of "save" *facepalm*. Oh well!

Last week was probably the last week that we actually had pretty nice weather. I still froze my bleedin' ass off but it was lovely and sunny (was a bitch when I was driving as the sun went in my eyes quite a lot). So I took this chance to doll up because, for some strange reason, I love dolling up when it's sunny.

Unfortunately it was a bit of a waste dolling up as I was only outside my house for like, 4 hours because of uni but OH WELL I had fun anyway!

I'm really winter-fying my outfits right now because I'm just getting so fed up of wearing slouchy jumpers and jeans and generally being lazy! It's nice to wear something nice, tehe.

(Basic) Gyaru on the Go

It's a much better phrase than gyaru-when-you've-only-got-20-mins-spare-and-you-think-"oh-shit". I actually hope to do another one of this post because of how ridiculous I look in the photos, but I thought that I might as well share it even it was a last-minute thought! Plus I didn't really have enough time for photos either... Oh wells!

Sunday was the first day that I was free of both uni and normal work, so I asked my housemate if she wanted to come with me for a drive. We decided to leave at 11, and then I realised... Oh shit I don't know if I had enough time; I had to wash my hair, get dolled up, get dressed, have breakfast, check my emails, write this blog post... All from 9.30 until 11.00. Oh shit!

So I literally jumped out of bed and into the shower, and by 9.45 I was done (my hair is pretty damn long so it takes a while for me to wash it!) I quickly gathered all of my makeup and started doing the base. Now it was 9.50, but I told myself that I still had time.
By 10.10 I had done my makeup, and voila!

Okay not my best of makeup/photo wise, but you get my drift. Got better photos
later on!

BUT MY HAIR STILL LOOKED MESSY because it was still wet an' all, so I had to briefly dry it. Okay now I definitely know that I won't have time to completely dry and straighten my hair, so I just whipped it up into a side pony.

I DO WHAT I WANT!

*cough* totally not a reference to Loki *cough*
Okay so I'm pretty sure all of you have seen a particular Kawaii.i video (and if now here's the link!) but basically there was something that the gyaru said that completely caught my attention:

"Gyarus all wear whatever they want. For other fashion styles, you care about what people think about you... But Gyarus really wear the clothes they want to wear and have fun with their style."

May I just say amen to that?

When I first started gal I was really conscious about what I was wearing and whether or not it was gal; now I don't really give a crap because I want to wear clothes that make me feel good, not because it is gal. I mostly focus on my hair and makeup now - although I do admit that I need to up my game on the hair - because that's really what makes you gal. I see tons of gals even wearing hoodies (like oraora gals, for instance) and they look amazing! Look at Chie and Chika; they wear "casual" gal and they look a m a z i n g.

Obviously you would have to wear accessories and stuff so that the outfit doesn't seem lazy or boring, but still, we should wear what we want. The gaijin gal community is pretty harsh I have to say, but the truth is that if you are comfortable in what you're wearing and not forcing yourself to buy things just  because "they look gal", then I think that that's completely fine.

Because...

I DO WHAT I WANT.

End of my rant/discussion. Over and out, ladies and gentlemen!

Coords & Gets!

Not a very interesting title, but oh well!
Now that I'm back at uni I don't really have the time to doll up (I never did really because of work but... yeah) however I have been trying to dress up a little more! Been living in jeans and t-shirts way too much for the last couple of weeks because of the fact a) I was ridiculously tired and b) I didn't want to "waste time" and do as much uni work as possible while I was awake.

Here's a few of my coords that I wore last week! No makeup and hair skills obv, so ignore that part :P

Forever 21 sweater, BHS necklace, Reveal shorts, Select tights, Hidden boots

I'm Singing Along Like There's No Tomorrow

Okay now that I haven't met up with anyone I actually have nothing to write about.
Well, that's a lie really, because I'm writing a blog post right now... But it's only because I am taking a break from the endless uni work that has been given to me to complete in a measly four days. I'm quite excited about this project to be honest as I've been told to create a logo, letterhead, business card and compliment slip.

But enough about uni work because I'm just so tired of it right now!

What I want to blog about today is my look for today. Like I said before I had been doing tons of uni work and normal work so I've been lazy and wore no makeup for a week. Seems like an age to me! I've been listening to a lot of Maroon 5 hence my choice of title~ It's from the song Ladykiller which is just so awesome.

Meeting up with Charli!

My eyes are actually burning as I write this, and it's only 21:53 (well, now it's 19:04, as I write up my blog and then publish it a couple of days later).
There's just so much going on in my personal life that it's affecting me both mentally and physically; for the past few days I've been a walking zombie, and I swear that whenever someone is talking to me I just faze out so that they have to repeat everything that they say all over again. It's such a horrible feeling, but I just can't seem to think nor sleep well.

But enough of this depressing, personal stuff! I'm here to blog, and that is what I shall do for my beautiful readers.

After MCM Expo I arranged to meet my darling Charli again because I just missed hanging out with her so much! We're going to arrange to go Xmas shopping together in London sometime and just blow out all of our savings... It's going to be so good! I really can't wait.

My look of the day!

MCM Expo!

Second post in less than a week?! Looks like I’m back in the blogging mood!
Tell a lie; I haven’t actually done anything interesting until recently, hence why I have things to post about…

Last Saturday I went to my first ever MCM Expo event! I had been very ill last week and was so worried that I couldn’t make it, but on the Saturday morning I felt tons better. Lucky or what? So I phoned the ever so gorgeous Charli to tell her that I could actually make it, did my make and hopped onto the train to London! It took me a while to figure out how to get to the Excel Customs House but I followed some other guys who were going there.

I didn’t dress up or cosplay but I so wished I did because I felt slightly out of place. It took me and Charli like nearly two hours to get tickets to go in, but I saw loads of amazing cosplayers! Because there were so many people I unfortunately wasn’t able to take many photos ;_; Here are the photos I have taken though:

My look! Going really simple w/o contouring because I was all sniffly~

Happy Halloween & Thank you so much for 1000 followers!

Happy Halloween, my beautiful, beautiful readers!
Halloween is one of my favourite events of the year even though I don't really do much apart from dressing up and eating lots of chocolate. Unfortunately I'm working on Halloween this year so I can't doll up and blog about it ;_;

I do, however, have a painting to show you all in celebration of Halloween! Here you go:

I have just finished this over an hour ago, having just started it last night. Eurgh, never again will I do a picture for an event on the night before! So stressful, and boy did I get fed up of doing all of those little roses. I swear I was going to give up on it o_e

I would also like to say thank you so much for following me and taking your time to read this blog; last week or the week before I hit a milestone that I never would've thought I'd achieve, so thank you so much! You don't know how happy it makes me to see that I have a new follower, a comment, a little share... I really do hope you would all continue to read this blog <3

Like I said before, I haven't dolled up for this occasion so the only picture I can use is of the one shown in my old post, Heeeeeey sexy lady. Thought I'd decorate the crap out of it to make it different! :P

(Wow I'm very crazy about purple today...)

That's all for now people! Until next time~

Sponsored Review: E301 Hazel

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, the thoughts and opinions stated are 100% my own.
Hello all!
This is a bit of a failure-of-a-post because originally I was going to do another outfit one where I don some oraora clothes, take makeup shots etc… But yeah, it didn’t turn out so great. So instead I decided to do a review!

These lens are sponsored by the wonderful Mukuchu! I have a pair of lens from them before (my favourite purple pair) but unfortunately they have expired. I was therefore extremely glad to see an email from them saying that they would like to sponsor me.
I’m a bit late creating this post due to unforeseen circumstances that I couldn’t really work around, but despite that they have been really understandable and I am grateful for that.

The lens they have provided me was E301 - Hazel, toric lens for people with astigmatism.

Communication ★★★★★
They always answered my replies on the day or the next day, so I would give them top marks for that! They were really understanding as well because of unforeseen circumstances that meant that this post was a little late, and I really appreciate that.

here's the lens that came with a little step-by-step guide as well as the case!

Heeeeeeey Sexy Lady!

*title totally not a reference to Gangnam Style... /cough*

This week has been the first week that I actually put in some effort into my makeup; over the summer I haven't bothered doing it because I was either staying at home or going to work, and so I properly wore makeup for the first time in ages when I went to Cambridge. Then I stopped for a while, but now I'm back!

It was my boyfriend's birthday party on Friday - the perfect chance to wear my new skirt! It was my first time wearing it because I wanted to buy some bits and bobs to go with it... I was actually quite excited, I kid you not.
Another reason of why I was excited was because it was going to be the first time I had "gone out" in ages. I can't remember the last time I felt good enough to actually go out before this (maybe when I went out with the girlies?) Anyways, I had a really really good time... It was so nice to see all of my old friends again!

Anyways, here's my look for that day! :3

Himegyaru; Frills and Pretty Things.

After I posted the first part of my Gaijin Gyaru Guide it got me thinking; what is my style, and where am I heading for? As you know I tend to float between styles depending on how I feel, but when I looked over at Tumblr I came across a Hime Gyaru.
And BAM my love for it was rekindled.

I actually found Gyaru through Himegyaru, so it's no surprise that I still have some "feelings" for it. It's so pretty, I mean really really pretty... Who wouldn't fall in love with it?
But then, as you can see, I grew away from that - I never actually tried it out - and discovered the other sub-categories of gal, and soon Hime Gyaru was just a part of Gal that I never really thought of trying.

So what is making me keep going back to Hime Gyaru (not dressing it, but browsing it)? Today I've discovered the reason; it's the whole lifestyle thing.

Now I'm actually really bad when it comes to being a full-time gal because work and uni just keeps getting in the way, which is why I'm so jealous of those gals who strut out in their full attire each and everyday of their lives. Hime Gyarus just seem to put so much effort into their looks and their clothing, and it's something that I want to do with my style. I want to be able to find the time to just doll up everyday and have a whole week planned on what to wear... But it's not so easy.

Here are my Hime Gyaru attempts (and failures) in the past:
From left to right: Meet with Annie, Where's the Sun Gone, Feeling like a Princess, Birthday in Brighton

Okay, maybe I wasn't so great at it.

Gyaru on a Budget

budget gyaru, gyaru on a budget

Today’s post is going to be about going gyaru on a budget. Now this is quite a popular topic within gyaru as many people who are new to the scene always ask, “Can I be gyaru even though I don’t have a job/a lot of money?” Now my answer to this is: yes, you can!

This is mostly due to personal experiences; when I started out gyaru I didn’t really have a job nor much pocket money, so I had to do everything I could to be gyaru but spend as little as possible. Even now I still tend to only spend on the items I either need or really really like and couldn’t possibly live without!

Let’s get onto the list, shall we?

Behind Enemy Lines

Just a short post of my look! It was the first time I had dolled up in over a month, so I though it deserved to be shown on this blog.
I'm so sorry that I haven't really been updating as frequently as before; I'm still on my semi-hiatus because I know that as soon as I say "I'm back!" I'll disappear for like 2 weeks and then would be all apologetic saying "I was caught up in something". So for now I'll just stick with my semi-hiatus mode.

I swear I'm beginning to love this cardi <3
New Look cardi, Primark top, New Look jeans,
Muse necklace, Primark socks & Dorothy Perkins' boots

Getting there, soldiering on.

Still on a semi-hiatus~
I decided to take down my previous post because I just realised how personal it was; I do love you, my dear readers, but the day after when I saw the post it actually affected me and made me feel a lot worse... I'd like to thank all of those wonderful people who made comments on that post; it seriously does mean a lot.

I'm currently staying at my parents' house for a couple of weeks until everything is sorted, although because of the circumstances I didn't really bring everything I needed with me. Like warm clothes, for example. Boy it's getting cold now!

I'm actually really excited for winter which is a first because I always hated it. I guess it's because I'm looking forward to finally having hot chocolate, snuggling in front of the fire, and wearing big comfy ol' jumpers! Thing is though, I'm totally unprepared for it.
So me, K and my mum went shopping to get some supplies, and these are what I bought~

Found this on the sales rack! Been reduced by 50% and seeing as it was the
only one left in my size... Might as well!

A much-needed winter coat!

And, of course, some boots!
And now for a MA*RS skirt that my lovely boyfriend bought for me! I had been dying to buy this skirt for ages, and wasn't going to buy it at all until he was like, "I'll buy it for you!" And of course I had to say yes to that!

Also, now that the first issue of Gal VIP has been released, I am "allowed" to show you some post-production photos! :3 I have two sets as one of them was for the cover shoot where I worked with Amelie~ <3

And let's end this post with a lovely cuppa' hot chocolate that K made me! :3~
