Oh Happy Days: Updates & Gal VIP!

Apparently the older you get, the less you experience of the year.
Like you know how the year seems to go by really slowly when you're 5 years old? And how it's going past really quick now that you're (x)? That's because we're only really "experiencing" 1/x amount of the year. So I'm "experiencing" only 1/20th of it right now.

How creepy is that?

Which is why I was incredibly surprised when I realised that it was time to write about blog post! I've been so caught up with my dissertation that it's Thursday before I even knew it. Damn. Didn't help that I was stressed because I was an idiot and tipped a pint of summer fruits squash over my laptop so had to wait for it to dry and pray that it worked okay.

It turned out okay - it has been okay so far though - so now I'm able to write this blog post. Woop woop!

Quite a bit has happened since I last posted; I met up with my gorgeous girly Charli to go for one last bit of shopping before uni started, and I was extra careful not to splurge. Go me! I managed to find that meow crop sweater that I had been looking for for ages, and also got my hands on an Ageha issue <3

First day at uni was pretty good; I got to see my classmates again and managed to talk to one of my lecturers about my dissertation so that I'm now ready to start researching my ass off. It's a good thing I like researching new things because I'd totally be having panic attacks right now...

I decided to doll up because I had aaaaages before I had to go into uni, and wanted to go for the more "gyaru-kei" look that Chie & Chika do.

Sponsored Review: Lace Matching Chiffon Shirt from Persunmall

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, the thoughts and opinions stated are 100% my own.

Hey guys!
I'm so sorry for posting so late! I was working today and being the doofus that I am I forgot to schedule this post ;_; But it's all here now ;D

As you all may/may not know, I've been digging onee gal recently now that it's getting colder and I'm about to start uni again, and Persunmall kindly contacted me about doing a sponsor so I asked if they could send me this gorgeous white blouse (Lace Matching Chiffon Shirt). It took a while to receive the items but nevertheless it's now hung in my wardrobe.

First off, postage and packaging
At first it wasn't obvious where the package was from until I actually opened it, and I was surprised to find that it had no returns sheet nor invoice. This might be due to the fact that it's a sponsored review, so I let it slide.  It took around two or three weeks to arrive which is pretty good for an international order.

Material
It was surprisingly a soft material, not scratchy at all! However due to this soft material it appears to be a bit fragile - especially the lace - so I had to be really careful with it. There weren't any care labels on it either so I did it on a very gentle wash.

I Live For The Applause

So I finally enrolled onto my final year at uni, and I'm kinda' stressing out about it because I just know that a) my social life is pretty much going to end and b) I'm going to go back to my workaholic self.

But oh wells! I can do it this year! I won't be a zombie, promise! I'll be forever fabulous and can get through this stressful year (hopefully).

Because the enrolment wasn't to start until later I actually managed to have the time to doll up. It's funny because I wasn't originally going to doll up, but while I was doing my makeup I thought, "Well I might as well add some contouring... Hmm maybe some eye shadow... But that means I have to put liner and some lashes on..." So I ended up with a made-up face instead of a bare one. Whoops!

I went for the more sophisticated look because I'm hoping to drift into the onee gal scene a bit more for uni and incorporate it into my agejo style. Plus I wanted to try out this new "blazer" I bought from Primark.

Last Days of Freedom

It's that time of year when the summer holidays are coming to the close and everyone goes back to uni. Thank goodness I wrote my previous post, "How To Be A Gyaru & A Student" in time! I hope that you all found it useful and are enjoying your new year at school/college/uni.

I've been thinking a lot about how my bank is suffering tremendously from the amount of online shopping I do, MA*RS in particular. It’s such a beautiful brand but I really need to stop buying stuff!

A new idea then popped into mind: why don’t I do a budget gal challenge? I’m thinking of only spending £50 a month on gal and each month I’ll go down by, say, £5 or £10, and see if I can survive (haha). My bank will thank me for it and I could then use that money for uni supplies.

Ah, uni. I miss it so much so I’m really looking forward to going back and studying my final year! I can already see my social life coming to an end but I’m going to work my ass off to make sure I could still see my friends outside of uni & work.

So I guess my shopping trip with Charli & Emi will be one of my last days of freedom and of spending! Charlie had recently gotten back from ‘Merica and I haven’t really spent much time with Emi before, but I had such an amazing day! Was very girly filled with shopping (although I didn’t buy much). I went for the more casual-agejo look because although I do love MA*RS I really need to search for new coords that don't really rely on that brand. I guess I did cheat a little in my outfit as I attached a MA*RS bow that I bought recently, but oh well! At least I'm trying.

How To Be A Gyaru & A Student

gyaru student, how to be gyaru and a student, work
This seems to be one of those most difficult questions that gaijin gals (gyaru) face; how can we still be gal if we go to school/college/uni/work? It is extremely high maintenance, and in some places it's not acceptable to be caked up in makeup.

Life as a student is... Difficult. I've had months where I just slipped on my glasses and grabbed a t-shirt and jeans before heading out of the door. Sometimes I didn't even bother getting dressed and worked in front of my computer at home with a cup of (relatively strong) coffee next to me. I'm amazed how some people manage to party all night and drink their money away with all the stuff they have to do but I guess they have the time and money for it.

How does gal fit into this busy schedule of mine? I'm not going to lie but I've had a lot of difficulty with it and yet I managed to pull through. It's been two years since I've started uni so I decided to write up a little "how-to" post for those going into uni/college/work! Please note that I'm only going to underline the basics, it's up to you to adapt these to your gal style.
