Lessons from 2015: How to Make the Most of Your Life

Hey cuties! How are you today? Did you have a good Christmas? (And to those who don't celebrate - did you have a good weekend?)

Mine was pretty good! It was very chilled out and consisted mainly of binge-watching films and playing monopoly. It was the first time I had cooked Christmas dinner with my sis! I wish I took a decent photo of it... Oh well, maybe next time. I also finally got my hands on a Christmas jumper so I paired that with my cute Santa-cat tights that I got from Kawaii Gyaru Shop*. I kind of wish I could wear this sweater more than once a year...

The festive spirit really made me think about what I've done this year and I'm really happy to say that there's been so many good things that had made me smile. There were some things that made me not-so-happy but I guess those times are there so that you could learn from them.

So instead of doing a post on everything I've done this year (as I had already written one back in June here) I've written a list on how to live life to the fullest from the lessons I've learnt in 2015.

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Liz Lisa Winter Florals

himekaji, liz lisa, kawaii gyaru shop

Did you know that Liz Lisa was the first brand I fell in love with, when I first found out about gyaru? It started when I found a picture of Yui Kanno wearing it for a winter collection (I can't remember which year) and from then on I was asking around to see if I can buy anything. Back then it was really hard to get branded items, unless you got it second hand from a friend, and I didn't really have a job because I was too young so my chances of having Liz Lisa were slipping... To all newbie gals - you are incredibly lucky that there are now more options to get branded items, for some of us it was a luxury and a 1/1000000 chance. Thank goodness for shops like Kawaii Gyaru Shop*! I don't know what to do without it

I'm still slowly building my Liz Lisa wardrobe but one of my goals next year is to wear more of it. I think it's because it's so different to my usual agejo style that I can't seem to get enough of it! My first stage is to be able to wear it in winter, and when Steph suggested this fleece Liz Lisa dress I fell in love. Within a couple of weeks it arrived on my doorstep and I couldn't wait to try it on! I also received some cute Christmas cat tights which I took a picture of in my previous post.

Feeling Festive: Recent Gyaru Coords!

hello kitty, sanrio, christmas tree, kawaii christmas tree

I've been in a rut in terms of Christmas spirit; I don't know why, but I just don't feel the cheer this year. I used to love Christmas but now I find myself enjoying Halloween more... It got to the point where I was so fed up with how I was feeling that I forced myself to dress up and go Christmas tree hunting. I haven't actually bought a Christmas tree before (apart from my mini one which I got for £1 from Poundland) so I was totally unprepared. I ended up red-faced with stress but I managed to get one in the end. The final result was a beautiful pink and white tree, topped with some Hello Kitty baubles that I got as an early Christmas present from my boyfriend's mum.

Hyper Japan's Christmas Market 2015!

tofu cute, hyper japan christmas market 2015
Secretly plotting to take this alpaca away...

I can't believe it's December already! I am so unprepared for this month - I've got tons of Christmas presents & decorations to buy and I've no idea what to get for everyone! It sucks... But I'm sure I'll figure something out!

Speaking of Christmas... Last weekend I went to Hyper Japan's Christmas Market! I've been looking forward to it for a long time - since their last one which I blogged about - but I didn't know until a week beforehand that I made it onto the fashion show, so let's just say that it was very last minute! It kind of annoyed me how unorganised they were but... I'll talk about that later. The fashion show was okay in the end and even though I was only gyaru on stage I didn't let it get me down because I was able to see all of my amazing friends

My Top 5 Gyaru Lashes!

gyaru false lashes, lashes collection, gaijin gyaru

You know that moment when you're supposed to be tidying up but instead get distracted by everything you find? Well, I stumbled upon a whole pack of gyaru lashes that I had long forgotten about which led me to gathering every pack that I had left and putting them all on one pile. It was a huge pile, but despite all of the lashes I have I only use about 5 of them on a regular basis, and thus I was hit with the sudden inspiration to show you all my top 5 favourites!

Gaijin Gyaru Guide: How To Find Your Gyaru Style

Today's post is another installment of my "Gaijin Gyaru Guide" series: how to find your gyaru style! I've been asked this question quite a lot lately and even though I have answered it briefly in the past, I wanted to go into more detail.

First things first - I call myself a "gyaru chameleon" because I tend to flip between styles quite a lot. This is normally based on the weather and how I'm feeling, but my main style is agejo. It isn't a bad thing to not find a particular style and sticking to it. I personally find it more fun! But for those who want to find a style... Well, this post is for you :D So here goes!

Gyaru Nostalgia: Past, Present & Future

agejo gyaru, ma*rs gyaru, lizzie bee

It seems like my MA*RS/agejo hiatus is over! It's been fun trying out different styles but I know now that I can't stray too far from it. It's a shame that the new MA*RS collection doesn't appeal to me, so instead of just limiting myself to that brand I'm going to branch out and do more of a sweet agejo look! (Please note; the style "sweet agejo" doesn't actually exist, I just like mixing agejo elements with cute looks) I tried it out whilst shopping with my friend Amy, and it brought back so many happy memories where I would wear MA*RS nearly every day...

Friday Fright & Halloween Night!

Halloween 2015, Halloween costume party
Pic by James
I can’t believe Halloween is over already… It was the first time I could actually celebrate it so I went all out - instead of just celebrating it for one day I managed to do something for the whole weekend. I dressed up, splattered myself with blood (fake, of course) and I had so much fun!

MCM Expo 2015!

wednesday addams, cosplay, goth girl
Photo: James Bissett

I went to London MCM Expo last weekend for the first time in what seems like forever after having missed the one in May. I was really looking forward to it - to check out all of the amazing cosplayers and buy some merchandise, and to also visit my friends at their stalls. I’ve heard that it’s becoming busier by the year, and I kinda’ wished I listened to that because I ended up being such a zombie afterwards!

It was also my first time that I cosplayed! I usually go fully decked in gyaru for Expo but this time I decided to bite the bullet and cosplay one of my favourite characters - Wednesday Addams! It was a really last-minute decision, but I wanted to do something for Halloween and didn’t have any scary costumes. I had to practice pulling a moody face without cracking a smile… Thank you you to Chewiee for helping me out with this! Luckily I had it nailed for expo!

Massive Gyaru Haul!

massive gyaru haul, gyaru kei, gyaru blogger

I'm so happy that you liked my post about the Harry Potter studios... I want to go on more adventures like that in future because it was so awesome! But today I'm writing about my massive gyaru haul from the past few months. I bought so much! I really regret it now though. But then again I am really happy with what I bought, so do I really regret it? Perhaps not.

These were mostly from my friend Charli at HoneyLY! She was going through a massive sale as she's moving to Japan, so I took this chance to get my hands on as many EGG magazines as possible. I really miss EGG... Especially from before 2011 era, as my favourite is 2008-2010. I also got a Kokokim choker because it was adorable, and some casual gyaru clothes... I'm starting to love casual gyaru more nowadays. I bought the Decorative Lash Playgirl on eBay.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter

gaijin gyaru, swankiss, ravenclaw, harry potter studio tour

I finally did the thing; I went to Warner Bros. Studios aka the Harry Potter studios in London! It was one of the best days of my life; I feel happy just thinking about it! Getting up at the crack of dawn was so worth it, and I thank whoever created makeup because it was a lifesaver for covering up how tired I actually felt. I channelled Ravenclaw vibes I opted for my blue dress and white pompoms for the Swankiss-inspired look. I've been obsessed with these hair ties lately, and I can definitely see myself wearing them more often.

When my friends and I arrived it was surprisingly quiet, so we took the chance to take a few photos outside before heading in and exploring the Harry Potter gift shop. It was amazing. I wish I could've bought the whole shop but alas, I'm not a billionaire. Joining the queue to get into the studio didn't take long either, and soon I was snapping away as an assistant welcomed use to Hogwarts (much like Professor McGonagall did) and we waltzed into the Great Hall and beyond.

Halloween Inspirations!

halloween gyaru inspirations

October is pretty much Halloween for me - I was actually counting down the days to October because I couldn't wait to finally have an excuse for wearing my "creepy" accessories without listening to people comment that it isn't Halloween. I just felt that I couldn't really express my love for Halloween until now; I'm aiming to wear as many creepy cute outfits as possible!

Well, that's if I had any.

Y'see, I didn't actually buy any creepy clothes because I haven't celebrated Halloween before. Sure I went to that one party like five years ago, but that was five years ago! I have probably three outfits that I could wear for the whole of October. Boo.

I can hear myself going a little off-track so let's get onto the real subject of this post - Halloween inspirations! I love seeing gyaru doing Halloween, so I had to share my favourites with you all!

N.B I found all of these images on Tumblr, so if you know any of the image sources, please let me know!

One Item Five Ways: Tartan/Plaid Shirt

one item five ways, amekaji, gyaru coord

I've finally packed up my summer wardrobe and oh my gosh I can't tell you enough how excited I was to start looking at autumn coordinates! I used to hate autumn, but now I'm so happy that it's finally here. While I was going through my clothes I realised that it was time to do another "One item five ways" post, and today's featured item is this tartan/plaid shirt from Primark!

Lizzie Loves: Gyaru Autumn/Winter Collections

rokku gyaru glavil by tutuha

Today's post will be about my top Autumn/Winter favourites! I've been waiting for the Autumn/Winter collections to come out since August (yeah I gave up on our British summer OTL) so I've been really looking forward to making this post! I did something similar back near the beginning of the year on spring trends.

So let's start with... Glavil! A.K.A Glavil by tutuHA!

Lizzie's Adventures! Cat Café!

Guess who's back? (Back again?)
Yessss I'm back from my break and boy I missed this blog so much! It felt really weird not blogging, but I told myself that I really needed this break and I'm glad that I took some time away from it. I should probably do it more often... But we'll see how it goes!

Today I'm writing about my adventure to a cat café! I've always wanted to go to one, so when my boyfriend suggested going on a date there I was so excited. The day was lovely and the sun was shining... It was perfect!

Going On a Mini Break! Be Back Soon!

Hey cuties!
I'm so sorry for not being able to post yesterday... But I found myself way too exhausted to write up a blog post, and that made me realise that I haven't taken a break from this blog for the last three years. Three. Years. That means I've been doing over 156 posts without taking a break. Can you believe it? I mean I had to give it a miss once when I was seriously ill but that was it.

So I'm going to take a mini holiday from my blog! I'll also be taking half a break from social media, perhaps just limiting myself to posting something every other day, but I'll be back on the 20th September

While I'm on my break it would be so amazing if you guys could leave your thoughts on what you want to see on this blog! I love blogging, and I love the fact that you guys read it, and your opinions mean a lot to me! You can talk to me either here or on my social networks that I've listed on the bottom of this post!

Until then... Have fun and take care of yourselves, okay? Love you all!

Birthday Weekend 2015!

Hey cuties! How are you today?
I just had one of the best weekends of my life - because it was my birthday weekend! Unfortunately I was a bit ill on my actual birthday but I still had a lot of fun :D It's typical that I recover as soon as my birthday was over...

Day 01
I was really excited for my birthday because my sis told me not to arrange anything, and to open her present at dead on midnight... So we waited, and as soon as it hit 12am I opened the pressie to find that she bought me a ticket to Cadbury World! I'm a big lover of chocolate so I was so looking forward to it! >\\\\<
I was a bit worried about wearing this outfit at first but I wanted to wear my favourite colour, pink! Not too sure what this style is though... I guess it's kind of sweet agejo? Idk.

June-July: Recent Gyaru Coords!

Hey cuties! How are you today?
Is it really weird that I'm already thinking of autumn? I'm already starting to put together a wishlist of all of the things I want to buy in preparation for it... I guess I just gave up with the idea of summer over here ^^" Ahem. Anyway. Today's post is just a collection of my most recent gyaru coords! Hope you like them~

Sweet Agejo at Kitacon
I went to kitacon for the first time to meet my cuties Chewiee, Maz & Sapphire! I underestimated the amount of cosplayers that were there, and realised that it was really just an event for them ^^" It was nice to see my friends anyway.

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Liz Lisa Floral Organza Salopette & Cute Socks!

Hey guys! How are you all?
Today I'm going to be posting a review of this gorgeous Liz Lisa salopette/suspender skirt , some super cute rilakkuma socks, and red Sorridere OTK socks from Kawaii Gyaru Shop! I want to incorporate more colours into my wardrobe (as it's mainly black and pink), so I took the plunge and I'm trying out colours that I haven't really worn before!

Customs was a turd blossom though so it took a day or two longer to arrive. I don't get why the UK adds a custom charge to small packages? They're so strict nowadays! Oh well, who cares, it is so worth it because yay pretty clothes!
I'm actually hoping to expand my Liz Lisa wardrobe because it's really easy to wear for work as it's not too OTT. I wore my last Liz Lisa top to work and it was all okay so I'm eager to try and wear this skirt there. Anyway, onto the photos!

Me, Myself & I

agejo gyaru, lizzie bee

Can you believe it's nearly August already? Neither can I... I'm really happy though because I'm a summer baby, and I just wish it would stay sunny and warm here forever! But this is England we're talking about, so of course that's never going to happen.

Today's post is going to be short and sweet where I ramble about whatever I can think of so that we can get to know each other better. It's crazy because no matter how many years I've been blogging, I feel like I haven't really opened up to you all yet aside from gyaru. So here goes... 15 things about me!

1. I am very emotional. It all started when I saw the film "Man on Fire". I never used to shed a single tear when it comes to films but ever since I saw that one I seem to cry at everything that shows the slightest bit of emotional. I hate seeing people cry as it makes me cry too, especially when their voices crack. I just want to cuddle them! Being emotional has made me quick-tempered now too, but I calm down just as fast! I also get really defensive when it comes to my friends and family.

Hyper Japan Summer 2015!

Hey cuties! How are you today?
Last week I went to Hyper Japan! I wasn't too sure that I would be able to make it so everything was really last minute, but I still had an amazing time! And... Well... I spent more money than I wanted to ^^" oh well!
Luckily I was able to attend the fashion show like last time, but this meant I had to get up at 6am to get ready o_e. Yeah, ouch, but it was so worth it. I was just too excited to be tired and before I knew it I was making my way to the O2 arena!

I've only been to the O2 once when I went to see 30 Seconds to Mars, and I forgot just how big it was! I was power-walking my way towards Hyper Japan because it was conveniently (not) right at the back of the building, but I managed to make it in time for the fashion show. Phew!

funny gyaru
"Yay Hyper Japan an- who dis?" Fin is so funny <3

Me and two of my friends (Sarah & Laurenn) were the only gyaru on the fashion show which was quite sad... Wish there were more of us </3 it really does seem like the gyaru community is dying the UK *sob* I ended up being the last model on the show and I found it so nerve-wracking because I just wanted to get it over and done with! So I passed the time by taking lots of selfies backstage tehehe.

One Item Five Ways: MA*RS Skirt

Hey everyone! How are you today? Having a good weekend so far?
I thought it was time to do another one of these posts as I've been very naughty recently and bought some new clothes ^^" I know I probably shouldn't have but I just couldn't resist! I don't regret it though, which is probably even worse...

This time I'll be creating 5 outfits with one of my favourite MA*RS skirts! Agejo is my favourite style, and I want to make it wearable for all seasons, but this time I'm just focusing on summer outfits. So here goes~

Agejo Cutie
Here I've mixed agejo & himekaji as those are two of my favourite styles. I wish I could combine these two more often as agejo could turn out to be really cute! But this outfit is okay for now.

Gyaru Makeup Tutorial (Without Circle Lenses!)

gyaru makeup tutorial without circle lens, lizzie bee

When you think of gyaru makeup you, naturally, would think about wearing circle lens but what about the people who can't wear such things? Yep, I am one of those people, and although I used to wear them I can happily say that I haven't been wearing them for 90% of my gyaru life. Because of this, I've been having quite a lot of people asking me on my instagram on how I do my eye makeup without circle lens and the other day I finally bit the bullet and took some photos. I'm hoping to do a video in future but I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to video stuff. If anyone has some advice that would be amazing.

So here goes... My gyaru makeup tutorial without circle lenses! I hope you'll like it.

2015 So Far

Hey cuties! How are you today?
I can't believe that it's already halfway through the year... When I thought about this the other day I started to panic because I felt like I haven't achieved anything at all. But then I realised that I made some big steps, and I wanted to write a blog post to remind myself that I'm doing okay and that I have achieved quite a lot of things so far.

So what have I done so far this year?

I went to my first international gyaru meet. This has to be one of the biggest events of my life and a huge step forward in terms of my confidence. I met loads of new people and some people that I knew over the internet but never really talked to, and it was amazing! This also meant that it was my first time travelling with a friend.

Recent Gyaru Coords

Hey everyone! How are you today?
Does anyone else here suffer from hayfever? I'm asking because I'm praying that I'm not the only one currently with tissue stuck up in their nostrils to stop it from overflowing (disgusting, I know). It's gotten so bad this year, and it's the main culprit of my messed up eye. But you'll be happy to hear that my eye has finally healed! Yay!

I've taken a few pictures of my gyaru coords and makeup over the past few weeks but I didn't take enough to make a blog post about each one, so I'm putting them all together in this post! I really hope you like them >////<

Party time! Agejo gyaru
This was my outfit for one of my best friend's leaving do! I'm going to miss her so much but we promised each other that we'll keep in touch and hopefully I can visit her in Australia! I haven't really worn this ma*rs dress before (shocking) so I took this chance to try out a more elegant agejo look~ I really like it! I think it's one of my favourites.

Sponsored Review: Petite Cherry

Hey everyone! How are you today?
I'm doing something a little bit different today by reviewing some cute lingerie from Petite Cherry (formerly known as Kaurls Laurel). I've got a really soft spot for cute lingerie so when I had a loook at the site I was nearly having a heart attack by how pretty everything was! The models were drop-dead gorgeous too tehe. It was so hard to choose which pair I wanted, but in the end I chose this gorgeous pink set that I just couldn't take my eyes off.

I'm a bit skeptical when buying bras online because my body is really awkward so I always have to try things on first, so when I received the item I couldn't wait to try it on. I held back, however, as I wanted to take pictures of the unboxing for you all! Please note that although this is a sponsored review, these thoughts are 100% my own!

A New Direction? Mermaid Princess!

mermaid, princess, mahoukei, jfashion, kawaii

Life has been quite... Hectic for me lately. I'm going through an emotional roller-coaster at the moment which was triggered by my stupid eye. To cut the story short; my eye went poop and my self-esteem went down. Thank goodness I have really supportive friends! I don't know what I would do without you peeps.

This has really affected the "gyaru me" because gyaru is very make-up orientated, but I took this chance to look at other Japanese fashion styles. I haven't pinpointed the one I like yet but I'm loving pastels and mermaids and general magical stuff lately! I went shopping with my friend Amy last weekend and bought this super cute mermaid blouse & pastel pink jeans, and I wore it to her birthday party.

So here goes... A new me! (Maybe?) I'm calling this my mermaid princess look tehe.

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Liz Lisa Sailor Collar Set

Hey cuties! How are you today?
I'm so happy because my Liz Lisa set from Kawaii Gyaru Shop arrived the other day! I've been eying it up for a while, so couldn't hold back from opening it as soon as it came through the door. I wasn't disappointed; it is as gorgeous as it looks in photos, perhaps even more beautiful!

So I got everything planned for the day where I can take photos wearing it, I even decided what kind of makeup and hair stye I wanted to do until I woke up that morning and found myself with a puffy left eye. Not cool.

That wasn't going to stop me though! Et voila, here are my photos!

One Item Five Ways: Liz Lisa Skirt

Hey everyone! How are you today?
I'm so happy that everyone liked my haul post - I'm going to try and do more in future but next time I'll save the links to everything I buy! eBay has saved my life, and I'll definitely shop from there from now on (with the occassional cheeky shop elsewhere).

For now, I just want to work with what I've got! I have so many clothes, so why is it so hard to put an outfit together?
To help me out a bit I've decided to do a "one item in five ways" post like they did in the old gyaru magazines. It'll help me become more creative with my clothes and save me from buying something that I already have.

In this post I'm going to create five different outfits for my Liz Lisa skirt! I'm in love with it, and I'm so glad that I've managed to get the complete set from Kawaii Gyaru Shop.

Swankiss Dream
My cutie Chewiee helped me to put this outfit together~ It's totally out of my comfort zone so I don't know when I'll wear it... I was actually thinking of selling the dress/top because I haven't had a chance to wear it outside because of my lack of confidence. I'm keeping it for now just in case.

Mini Gyaru Meet in Birmingham!

Hey everyone! How are you today? ♡
Yesterday I organised a mini-meet in Birmingham to see if there were any gals in the area... London can be quite far for some people (as well as expensive) and Birmingham is the next biggest city that I know of. It went quite well! I met some new people which was cool and the best thing was that Chewiee came to visit me at the same time ꒰* ॢꈍ◡ꈍ ॢ꒱.*˚‧♡

We both wore agejo for the meet! Gosh I love wearing this style so much. It's so fun getting ready with a friend!

My Recent Gyaru Haul: Cute Things for Spring!

Hey guys! How are you today? ♡
I went on an online shopping spree a few weeks ago and yesterday the last item arrived so I can finally show you all what I bought! I know what you're thinking, "oh Lizzie is buying stuff AGAIN", but I've got a very good excuse this time and that is that everything was from eBay!

Well, sorta'.

I've just been so fed up of spending so much money on gyaru brand that I've taken a step back and refused to buy anything unless it was dirt cheap or secondhand from a friend. I'm going cold turkey and be a budget gyaru! I feel so much better about it and now I can spend more money on seeing my friends.

And now presenting, my recent gyaru buys!

Sticking with the pastel-coloured theme, I bought this baby pink crop top & aqua blouse because I think they would work really well with my white Liz Lisa shorts & the new shoes! Obviously it would be too early in the year to wear the aqua one, but I think it'll look really nice with a white blazer for the office. I love it when I can wear one item for lots of different styles!
The tights were supposed to be "white" but they came out cream... But I guess it'll still be okay with my shorts and pastel coords.

Easy Parapara Routines!

Hey everyone! How are you? ♡
I've got some good news - I'm no longer ill! My cough has finally disappeared for good (hopefully) and you don't know just how relieved I am. I thought that it was never going to end! During those dark days I asked my friends for advice on boosting my immune system and they gave me lots of helpful tips! I'm forever grateful~ ꒰*⑅´•͈⌔•͈`⑅*꒱ I'm going to start by having fruit salad every day and drinking lots of water. And then some dreaded exercise... Really not looking forward to that, but it has to be done!

However there is a way to exercise and make it enjoyable, and that's through parapara! I've been thinking about doing it ever since the International Meet. I really admired how they made it look so effortless, and I want to try harder at it!
What I've done is tracked down the really easy paraparas; I started doing this last year but so far I've only managed to do about 4 or 5. Procrastination for the win! I really suck at dancing, so I was really happy that I could do some easy routines!

Now I want to share these routines with you because if I (the person who would win an award at crap dancing) could do it, then you can! It would be really nice if more people in the gyaru community could do parapara as it was really big back in the day! I originally thought that it looked a bit weird, but it's actually really fun to do and I could class it as exercise. *cough*

A Touch of Magic!

Hey cuties! How are you today? ♡
I went to see Cinderella with a friend last weekend! I was supposed to see it ages ago but I had to push back my plans because I was ill ;_; So it gave me something to look forward to!

I decided to wear something a bit more 'princess-y', and what's more princess-like than my Liz Lisa set? I'm so happy that I was able to get this from Kawaii Gyaru Shop as they sell out so quickly... I'm hoping to get more Liz Lisa items when it gets warmer. Idk why but I've been really digging light, 'girly' gyaru looks!

Instead of wearing the whole set I just wore the top and paired it with some light-coloured jeans to make it look more casual. It's finally starting to get warm enough to wear all of my spring stuff!

Meetup with Chewiee, Maz & Sui!

Hey everyone! How are you today? Did you have a good week & weekend so far? ♡
Sorry for not posting last Sunday... I was really ill with migraines and a fever so I didn't have the energy to post! I managed to have the strength to post a status about it on my Facebook page which was good! I didn't want to leave you all stranded.

Anyway, the other week I met up with my cuties Chewiee, Maz and Sui! ꒰* ॢꈍ◡ꈍ ॢ꒱.*˚‧♡ Sui was over in London for a bit so I just had to see her. I'm trying to travel to see my friends more but it's proving to be quite difficult because I don't have a lot of free time too... Nor money. So upsetting. But I've been good and I've only bought some flatforms from eBay inspired by my last post (but they were too small) and I have some accessories now! My Swankiss-inspired wardrobe is slowly building up.

As it's still building up I haven't been able to put together a complete outfit, so I went back to my agejo roots. I guess it's okay for now but I'm bursting to try out a new style!

My New Obsession: Swankiss

Hey cuties! How are you today?
Last week was a little hint that I am slowly experimenting with my style... I am getting a bit bored of doing agejo so I think it's time to try something new! I always get really excited when I try out a different part of Japanese fashion tehe~ And the shop staff at Swankiss have been a massive inspiration lately. I just wish I had the clothes for it but I've told myself not to buy anymore brand because I can't really justify it.

I was a bit disappointed with Swankiss' collection (as said here) but I just love the way the shop staff put everything together! Here are a few of my favourites:

In the Name of the Moon, Sailor Gyaru!

Hey cuties! How are you today?
It was the International Day of Happiness a few days ago (or weeks, I'm really behind on blogging haha). I didn't know about it until I read it on Facebook, and strangely enough it was a really good day for me. One of the main things was that my bby Chewiee came over to visit!

We've both been really digging into the whole Swankiss look recently, so when she came round we tried it out! I really want to be able to put together some Swankiss-inspired outfits but I'm still really nervous about dressing over-the-top cute ;_; So my outfit wasn't really Swankiss inspired... I just wanted an excuse to wear my Sailor Moon fleece tehehehe~ Magical Girl Power! Hopefully next time I can put together a more Swankiss inspired coordinate, but today I am Sailor Gyaru!

Recent Gyaru Meetups!

Hey everyone! How are you today?
I was so happy to see a lot of positive reactions from my last post "What Gyaru Means to Me"~ it really means a lot that you guys are so supportive, and looking at my old posts reminded me of the early excitement of discovering a new style. When I saw gyaru I knew that I had finally found "me"! I'm so happy that that excitement hasn't died down! Gyaru is so amazing.

I've been dressing in gyaru more recently which is good because while I was at uni I missed out on dolling up quite a lot, especially when I started working... So it was really refreshing! I also went to some meetups this past week.

London Meetup!
The first was in London; it was organised by someone else this time which was really nice for a change as it meant that I would meet more people! I wanted to go for a casual agejo style, but still managed to make my hair and makeup pretty dramatic.

What Gyaru Means to Me

what gyaru means to me, agejo gyaru

I was just flicking through my blog the other day to search for some inspiration when I found myself looking at my old livejournal blog. Yes, before blogger there was livejournal and wow I feel so old just thinking about it. Whilst scrolling my eyes I discovered my very first post where I mentioned gyaru and couldn't help but noticed the date...

November 2010.
That's 5 years ago.

I just sat there like holy mother of pandas, that long ago? I still remember my first days of gyaru very clearly and boy was I such a n00b. I didn't even know how to wear makeup let alone do gyaru makeup. I spent some time after that just browsing YouTube and searching through "Kogal Panel" on livejournal before I bit the bullet and posted online. As expected, I wasn't the greatest of newbies (n00b over here, remember?) so there were some comments that was a bit of a slap in the face but I just grit my teeth, took the criticism, and improved. Little did I know how much of an impact gyaru would have on my life and how much it would mean to me.

Lizzie Loves: Gyaru Spring Collections

Hey cutie patootie! How are you today?
Oh my gosh I am so so excited for Spring; I went out on a walk the other day and I couldn't help feeling really happy that it was really beautiful and sunny. It's still pretty cold but that's what layering up is for!

I've been a little out of touch lately with my "gyaru self" so the other day I spent the whole evening catching up on blogs and looking at new collections. I have to say that Spring is, hands down, the perfect season in terms of clothes right now. Everyone is bringing out their pastel colours and floral prints... I love it!

Here are a few of my favourites; I was just going to write about MA*RS but I've fallen in love with other brands like Rady & Liz Lisa!

But let's start with MA*RS~

What's really sad about looking at this collection is the realisation that MA*RS has toned down a hell of a lot over the past few years. It's leaning onto the more onee gyaru look - hopefully it wouldn't end up like GOLDS Infinity!

Rady
Rady is one of my favourite onee gyaru brands, and it's mainly because of my love for Shizuka Muto <3 She's so classy and glamorous! I love her famous "Rady" pattern, so it would be lovely to own one of those pieces one day. I find that a lot of other onee brands have done things very similar to hers... Hmm.

Oshare Con!

Hey sweetie! How are you today?
I've been crazy busy this past week that I'm writing this at the last minute (again). I'm so sorry! I'll try harder to make this a better blog for you all~ But I've been updating my Instagram & FB page a lot recently! I think I might use those as my main two platforms (aside from this one, of course!)
Today I want to talk to you about Oshare Con! It's pretty much an event for fellow Japanese fashion & lifestyle lovers and it's organised by my friends Charlotte, Rox & Dominique! I really want to go there so badly but my bank is not in the best condition at the moment ;_;
Another reason I really want to go is that it's the first Dutch even based around Japanese fashion, ever! It would be so nice to witness this... I really hope that they do it again next year so that I could make it *3*

But what will be happening at Oshare Con? Here's a video that gives a brief overview:

Oh Sweet Agejo~

Hey cutie patooties! How are you?
I've been obsessed with wearing pink lately, I just can't get enough of it! It's kind of annoying though because my wardrobe is mostly black and dark pink, not the light pink that I'm looking for, but I'm making do!
Ages ago I mentioned mixing up with agejo and hime, and I've been trying it out quite a lot recently! I'm focusing more on pink and a cute appearance instead of really sexy. I actually really like it >\\\< So this post will be a series of outfits

Ice Cream Date~
I did this style when me and my boyfriend went on a date to a nice cafe! It was so cold... I think Germany has trained me on how to wear lots of thin layers of tights to keep me warm tehe. I got quite frustrated because I really wanted to try out a new hairstyle but it went horribly wrong. I panicked, and covered it up with pigtails so it was all sorted by the time my boyfriend arrived to go on our date ;D mission accomplished!
