Lizzie Loves: Gyaru Spring Collections

Hey cutie patootie! How are you today?
Oh my gosh I am so so excited for Spring; I went out on a walk the other day and I couldn't help feeling really happy that it was really beautiful and sunny. It's still pretty cold but that's what layering up is for!

I've been a little out of touch lately with my "gyaru self" so the other day I spent the whole evening catching up on blogs and looking at new collections. I have to say that Spring is, hands down, the perfect season in terms of clothes right now. Everyone is bringing out their pastel colours and floral prints... I love it!

Here are a few of my favourites; I was just going to write about MA*RS but I've fallen in love with other brands like Rady & Liz Lisa!

But let's start with MA*RS~

mysticthorn MA*RS favourites

What's really sad about looking at this collection is the realisation that MA*RS has toned down a hell of a lot over the past few years. It's leaning onto the more onee gyaru look - hopefully it wouldn't end up like GOLDS Infinity!

mysticthorn Rady favourites

Rady
Rady is one of my favourite onee gyaru brands, and it's mainly because of my love for Shizuka Muto <3 She's so classy and glamorous! I love her famous "Rady" pattern, so it would be lovely to own one of those pieces one day. I find that a lot of other onee brands have done things very similar to hers... Hmm.

Delyle Noir
Despite the fact I was only really interested in three items, I love the "light" theme going on, especially this combination of lilac and white!

DaTura
I was really disappointed at my lack of interest in DaTura's collection because I see so many gyarus like Sakurina sporting it. I really do love that rose pattern that they have on that dress, and it looks great with a loose knit.

Emiria Wiz
This is one of the newer brands that I've stumbled upon and wow... I just love their patterns! I think their clothes is perfect for the onee/agejo mix. Definitely a good source of inspiration for those agejo lovers who work in an office!
What I found quite frustrating is that although I love pink, there was a bit too much of it here. I would've loved to see more blues like in the maxi dress on the bottom left!

Swankiss
Swankiss is another recent brand that I've fallen in love with, although it seems to be sitting on the boderline of gyaru. I would say that it was more of a brand associated with larme-kei than gyaru, but it could totally be worn with the right makeup and hair!
I was actually quite disappointed when I looked at their online store as I see so many creative staff coords on tumblr - better luck next time!

Liz Lisa
I think Liz Lisa is one of my favourites for Spring; it's just so wearable! I think that the problem with some gyaru brands is that it's so hard to wear for everyday events because it can seem too glamorous... What I loved about gyaru when I first started was that it was so easy to wear.

I'm hoping to take more inspiration from brands such as Liz Lisa & Rady where I can wear it everyday, but it's just so difficult! But I'll definitely share my finds on my Facebook page!

That's all for now sweeties~ Which collection is your favourite? I think you can tell which ones are mine >///<
See you next week my cuties~

  1. I could absolutely not resist that MA*RS pink tweed dress and jacket. <3 I also got those Swankiss high-waisted jeans. Although the ones I got have the daisies at the ankles. ^_^

I especially love that black skirt x white blouse from Ma*rs, I'd definitely wear it even though it's a bit more cute than the rest of my wardrobe haha ovo

  6. I haven't actually tried out pastels (apart from pink) but seeing all of these collections makes me wanna try out lilac *3*
    Yes MA*RS is my favourite, and so is Rady! I wish I had some Rady in my wardrobe but it's really expensive ;_;
    The rose pattern is really, really popular - that's why I was so disappointed to find their other stuff quite boring ;_;

  11. I agree with you that Ma*rs looks a lot more toned down now and I'm quite disappointed because I love old Golds Infinity pieces but it got kinda boring now ><
I hope all brands will do more of what they used to

  12. I'm a little glad and sad at Ma*rs new collection- I was never really into their bolder stuff but I adore their spring releases but sadly it kind of doesn't feel very Ma*rs like? Maybe its just me.
Also I've recently fallen head over heels in love with swankiss- their clothes are just perfection in clothing form!~

  13. ^ That's why I was feeling so down about it... It doesn't scream "MA*RS" anymore apart from a few selected items where they would have dramatic prints. But it's a lot more wearable which is great!

Oh my gosh I know exactly what you mean! I do love their stuff~ Just wished I found some more of their items to add to my wishlist!

  14. Yeah ;_; Golds Infinity was one of my favourite brands back in the day. I only actually have one or two of their items D:
I hope so too! Well, with recent news that Ageha's coming back they might go bolder!

  16. Yeah exactly~ Though I do agree they do look a lot more wearable which I guess is better for a wider range of people- especially those who aren't used to wearing such bold styles out yet~ Still its a shame, I really admired how outlandish their clothing was~

Swankiss is just so perfect their currently one of my favorite brands- so hard to come by though in comparison to other brands- I guess its better that way though for my bank accounts sake~

  17. I know right? I guess it means that it's easier to wear to work etc...
Yes Liz Lisa is definitely one of my favourites! I really want to buy something from there >///<

  18. Yeah you're right! Although I think that it's now a bit too toned down, and maybe not as gal? Idk. I've always thought that the makeup & hair is more important but even that is toned down nowadays D:

Swankiss is magical <3 But I agree! My bank couldn't take it haha

  19. I know I shouldn't love the MA*RS collection because it's partly toned down but those tweed set-ups need to be in my life. Great post!! <3

  25. I want to know where you learn all about this stuff. Do you just go to
the online shops or do you also peruse that ameblo blog site? I mean does
knowing Japanese help with being more up-to-date with these things?
Usually I learn more details (like models names, new brand lines) from
these types of blogs than anywhere else.

  26. you did a pretty good job on your eyes for not having lenses! now if i can only hone in on your make power

  27. I just went on every shop site and just saved the pictures of my favourite ones ^^ it was a very long process...
I don't know a single word of Japanese so I can't really help you there :P but I guess it does help?
