My 2018, although amazing, had been a bit all over the place as I didn’t have any idea what I wanted or what I was doing. It wasn’t until I wrote about my dream life that I was able to reset my focus, so I want everything about this year to head towards it. Instead of writing resolutions (as I never seem to be able to actually do them) I’ve created a little 2019 check list like I did a couple of years ago… And this is a list that I can’t wait to tick off!

Blog + Gyaru
- Channel my focus
- Re-jig my wardrobe to suit agejo & himekaji styles
This blog is first and foremost a gyaru blog, and there were a few moments last year where I lost sight of that and I was careful not to let that seep into my blog. But it has been on my mind (and on my twitter feed) a lot more frequently lately and so I created a survey to see what you wanted to read. Outfit and lifestyle posts were right at the top, followed by beauty reviews, but the main link between them all was to create gyaru-focused posts. So this year I want to reset my focus so that I can produce more gyaru content for you all, with a little sprinkle of personal posts.
I’ve also started working on an option where you could subscribe to my mailing list and get the latest news straight to your inbox, as I want to cut down the time I spend scheduling tweets etc and more time getting out there and producing content.
In terms of my actual gyaru style… Well, I missed agejo, and I didn’t know how much I missed it until I wore this outfit. I felt so alive so I want to dip back into that in 2019 but perhaps opt for ane agejo or just a classy gyaru style. I’ll be mixing it up with himekaji (as I absolutely adore himekaji) and I’m so excited to build my wardrobe again!
Design
- Immerse myself into the design world
- Do more side projects
I am pretty hard-working, but I felt that it was necessary to include ‘immerse myself into design’ as it’s been a while since I’ve read up some design articles as part of a daily habit and that’s purely because I have less time. I want to read blog sites like Design Week and Brand New a lot more, like I used to, and just be more active on my design platforms. I also seriously need to brush up my portfolio with the projects that I’ve done at work, but it’s quite hard as everything I’ve been working on is a bit hush-hush for at least the next year or so. I’m hoping by the end of the year when projects are out in the ‘real world’ that I can start showing them, but in the meantime I’ll focus on doing more hand-lettering side projects outside of work to get my lettering muscles trained. I had been a bit slack in 2018 with the wedding an’ all and I’m ready to dive into design again.

Life
- Waste less
- Spend more time with my family
- Look after myself more
- Read 12 books
I’ve been doing a lot of socialising this year (or rather, last year) in meeting up with friends so on this year’s check list I want to spend more time with my hubby and my family. Being more organised with my blog/design life would definitely help as I want to work less on the weekends. I am such a morning person so I want to do all of the work that I can first thing, and then spend the rest of the day with my family or chilling out with a book. I managed to read 12 books this year, and I’d like to do the same next year, too!
Wasting less is at the top of my priority list this year. Like all of the years in the past, I’m doing a massive clear out and this time I don’t want to fill in the gaps. I’ve had enough of my hoarder-self and want to adopt more of a minimalist approach. It’s going to be SO difficult!

What’s on your 2019 check list?
Love,
Lizzie xx
Lana
January 5, 2019I think those are all great aspirations for 2019 – of course, you’d know that the best! I haven’t made any resolutions for this year, nor do I expect anything from it. I suppose I’ll just see where the flow of it will eventually take me.
Love!

January 6, 2019Your “life” checklist is pretty much identical to the sort of things I want to focus on this year! I have a lot of books on my 2019 “to read” list. Hopefully I can check them all off! I also recently cleared out my wardrobe and donated a lot of my old clothing. I felt so productive afterwards!
hellolizziebee
January 6, 2019Yay, snap! Gosh I really admire you for clearing out your wardrobe – I’ve still yet to do that!

January 6, 2019Your style is pretty cute I love all of your outfit pictures in this post! Good luck with ticking all these off your list this year, 1 book a month is definitely doable! I’ve set my reading challenge quite low this year at only 25 books because I don’t know how much time I’ll have to read but I am hoping to smash it! I also want to be more organised in regards to my blog!

January 6, 2019Awh thank you so much Bexa! I feel that self-care is just SO important because you can’t do anything if you’re in a bad place, so it should come first! Good luck on your goals and happy new year to you too <3 xx

January 7, 2019Aww I love your 2019 checklist so much! 😀 Some really great things on there and it’s varied, which is always good.
Some of my goals is to keep up with my blog to help it grow, watch more anime/read more manga, save up for trip to Japan, get fitter and many more. 😀

January 11, 2019Great post!
To DO list or bucket lists are better than the boring new year resolutions. I am doing also to do lists or wishlists and more in my bullet journal ♡.
I love your agejo gyaru outfit here. The datura jacket perfectly harmonises with the pearls of your necklace.
Let’s keep rocking this year,
Greetings

January 12, 2019Oooh I’ve started using a bullet journal, too! I tried last year and it didn’t work but I’m really hoping it works this year!
Thank you so so much, I can’t tell you how good it feels to be wearing it again. Thank you so much for your support! <3

January 12, 2019This outfit is the cutest, I absolutely love your style as always, can’t wait to see what outfits you create this year! For me I am trying to learn that not everything has to have meaning haha, that sounds weird but I am always going about analysing everything and looking for a meaning or point in everything to make my life feel valid I think. I am trying to learn that a lot of things don’t really have a meaning but that is the fun of them 😀 and just being more spontaneous, fun and not taking anything too seriously, appreciating the joy in the moment only xx

January 12, 2019No I totally get what you mean! I get that too because I’m such an overthinker. I’m always asking, “but WHY?”. Haha. But I love the sound of being more spontaneous and having fun! Hope you smash your goals for this year <3
