GO!GO!→Goals for 2021!

Happy New Year

Hey cutie, and happy new year! I originally wanted to dress up to celebrate the new year but instead I’ve spent the day being super lazy and binge watching the Discovery of Witches haha. But today I thought I’d write up some goals for 2021! I’m really hoping this year will be kinder to me than last year (which you can read about over here).

Okay, let’s go! 👌

Bake + cook more

Ever since baking gingerbread biscuits and toffee apple crumble for Christmas, I’ve been feeling more motivated to bake! I’ve already started looking at some super easy recipes and I can’t wait to share my results with you all. I also want to start cooking more Asian dishes (especially more Chinese dishes) and vegetarian stuff!

Super casual I-don’t-give-a-damn blog posts

One of the biggest things to happen in 2020 was that I had completely thrown out the “blogging rulebook” and started to blog like I used to back in the day. And omg I love it. I feel so wild and free and the pressure of having to create perfect content in order to fit in with the blogging community is just so refreshing. I’d love to continue writing suuuuuper casual posts and post whenever I want to and just have fun with blogging again! My new motto is “blogging like it’s 2010” tehehehe.

Do more creative projects

I’ve always thought that drawing was the only way to be creative but to be honest… Even blogging, creating YouTube content, designing cute graphics for this blog is all very creative and it’s something that I need to realise! So instead of telling myself to “do more illustration to be creative” I’m going to say “do more creative projects” instead!

Pick up my Chinese (again)

I want to start learning Chinese again! I tried this last year but then I stopped after August because I was feeling really down about my progress 😢 but I need to tell myself that small progress is still progress, and to stop beating myself up about it.

Build up my himekaji wardrobe

It’s going to take me some time but I really hope to become an everyday himekaji gal by the end of the year, and if not, to at least juggle that with casual gyaru style. My winter wardrobe is pretty much there but now I need to build up on my spring and summer! I’m so excited 💕

Travel (as much as I can)

I have nooo idea what travel restrictions would be like in 2021, but I’m hoping to travel much as I possibly can! Even if it’s just a day trip to a nearby town, I just really miss exploring somewhere new. I would also love to share my adventures either on here or on my YouTube channel!

And there we have it! I decided to keep my goals really minimal so that I don’t overload myself. Taking baby steps ❤️

What are your goals for 2021?

Such good goals for the new year! I think baking and cooking more is a great way to eat a healthier diet. 🙂

I really hope to get back into learning Japanese again. I learned one chart and I kinda slacked off XD I’m a terrible student. I would also like to have more interesting posts on my blog and insta. So it’s not the same boring things over and over. And of course make this the year I finally move out with my Darling and get married lmaoooo

These are some great goals for this year! Since I’m thinking we’re going to go into a toner lockdown I also want to cook and bake more and get more creative in the kitchen!

I really want to learn japanese but I am not sure where to start…I remember using an app that was explaining very well but after the test program was over I didn’t want to pay (I was a student and had no money)…now I think I am willing to pay since it was very well made…but I can’t find the app anymore..

Awh no that’s so frustrating, I really hope you can find the app soon! I’ve started using Duolingo to do 5 mins of Chinese every day

Is there a forum or central site that a good portion of the community go to? I’m interested in getting into jfashion in general and himekaji in particular and want to know if there’s a Facebook page or something like that I can stalk.

Unfortunately, as much as I would LOVE to travel again, I don’t see it happening anytime soon for us. Canada has been taking things pretty seriously as far as border restrictions and quarantine periods, and the word is that quarantine is going to get stricter moving forward. While I TOTALLY understand the need for the restrictions, it is going to keep us from going far. That being said, my husband and I both LOVE camping so we took 2020 to get out and camp here in our own province more and we’ll be doing the same in 2021.

Those sound like great goals!!! And are very similar to mine, though replace Chinese with French or Japanese since I already speak Chinese

I’d like to see more casual outfit posts for sure~ I don’t know really how to even incorporate those into my own blog!! Especially with my gremlin lifestyle never even bothering to get dressed D:

  • Cute outfit! I’m also hoping 2021 includes (much) more travel and creative projects, and that I’m able to continue cooking and baking as much as I did in 2020, or at least with the same fun and creativity.

My husband and I are expecting a daughter any day now, so as far as actual goals for the year my big one is to somehow pull off being a great mom and wife while not losing myself in the process!
