Our Obsession with Brands

gyaru brands, obsession, gaijin gyaru

It’s true; we, as gals, have an obsession with brands.

I’m really guilty of doing this. Whenever I see someone buy brand items like a gorgeous MA*RS set I go, “Ooh it looks pretty! I want it! I’ve got to buy it! I bought it.” A couple of months ago I bought a MA*RS dress for £92, and it didn’t really look as if it was worth that amount of money.

Why did I do this? Because I felt that Japanese brand makes you more gyaru.

Living the Gal Life: London Gal Meet

“The higher the hair, the closer you are to God.”

Hey! How’s your week been so far? The past few weeks of stress and lack of sleep was totally worth it; I managed to finish my projects a couple of weeks early, and I celebrated it by going to a gal meet! It was my friend Jada’s birthday some time ago so we wanted to do a gal meet as well as a birthday meet and it was so much fun. We had some bubble tea, took purikura (something that’s now obligatory for a gal meet in my opinion), and then went off to do some karaoke! It was actually really relaxing because before I knew it I had to head home. I wish I could’ve stayed for longer… Stupid trains and their engineering work.

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Hey all!

How was your Christmas holidays? Did you eat lots of food? I did! I swear I’ve never eaten so much food in my life, and that’s pretty hard to beat as I tend to eat a lot everyday… But wow I’m still stuffed from my delicious Christmas dinner that my mum cooked up (we have roast duck and pancakes for Christmas instead of turkey).

My Christmas holiday was quite a long one but it was just so good! I wanted to write a post including everything I did around Christmas, so please excuse the abundance of photos and writing~ But there’s no point splitting this up into lots of mini posts because it’ll be 2014 before we know it.

The first Christmas event was the day I went to see Charli! I missed her terribly, as I hadn’t seen her that much at the October MCM Expo so it was lovely to spend a couple of hours trotting around London with her.
We decided to take some purikura as it had been a really long time! I think that it is a tad expensive, but as we were splitting it in half it wasn’t so bad. Although their scanner broke so I’ve only got photos of the purikura half I had </3

The whole set~

Then we headed to our favourite restaurant, Suki! The food is so good for the price we pay, so I was really happy to be finally sitting down munching on gorgeous ramen. If anyone’s heading to London one day, you should definitely try this place out! It’s a Japanese restaurant and it’s amazing!

After that it got dark surprisingly quickly so instead of heading to Stratford Westfield we just had a look around Chinatown and the surrounding area, mainly because it was absolutely freezing and we didn’t feel like going shopping. London was incredibly busy, so we were pretty exhausted even just walking around for a bit as we had to continuously dodge around people who were obviously rushing for their last-minute Christmas presents.

At one of the shops there Charli got me a gorgeous alpaca as a Christmas present! I was absolutely delighted as I adore alpacas, and I’m going to name this one Honey after Charli Honey (her blog name) <3

I got her some Korean black pearl face masks for her Christmas present, and now I’m thinking that I really ought to pamper myself a little bit! I never have time to relax with all of the uni work and work stuff I had to do, but I’d love it if I just had one day a week to do something relaxing… What do you do to relax on your days off? Or are you like me and is a workaholic (hahaha).

That was it for our Christmas meetup! Even though we didn’t see each other until later – I had uni work to do and she had work – I still had lots of fun. I missed her so much!

Outfit & look for the Christmas meetup:

The bright light drowned my blusher ;_;

Denim shirt: Primark  |  Knitwear: Select  |  Shorts: Reveal  |  Tights: Select  |  Heeled boots: New Look

Okay, now onto event number two! I drove home for Christmas after work and was just so happy to be with the ones I loved. It had been ages since I saw everyone so I spent most of Christmas with my family and my boyfriend.

We didn’t do much on Christmas Eve as I was absolutely knackered from driving, but on Christmas day we dolled up and watched lots of movies! The one we watched in particular was Monsters University. I love that film!

Me & my gorgeous sister!

I was so ridiculously spoilt this year! I got a gorgeous new bag, jewellery, clothes, a personalised, calendar, some DVDs, chocolate… And lots more! I was going to take a photo of everything out of the bag but I really, really couldn’t be bothered. Eating lots of chocolate has made me lazy D:

My outfit & look for the day:

(wooow my sister’s mirror was so dusty…)
Dress, hoodie & jewellery: MA*RS | Belt: GOLDS Infinity
Tights: Select | Boots: Dorothy Perkins

I didn’t bother to do my hair that day because 1) I woke up pretty late and 2) I was bursting to open presents and really couldn’t be bothered. I literally jumped onto everyone’s bed to wake them up… I’m not a child, I swear.

Christmas event number 3: Boxing Day! Boxing Day is the British equivalent to Black Friday, and it’s where all the sales start. I literally rolled out of bed, and went out to town to hunt done some bargain items but I ended up only buying one thing that was actually in the sale. There was just nothing left for me to buy! I guess that means I have more money to spend later on…

Oh wow that’s a terrible photo! I’m so sorry!

My sister, mum and I then treated ourselves to some food at Pizza Hut and boy it was filling! I can never seem to eat more than a couple of slices of pizza before I feel full, and yet I could eat a mountain of Sunday Roast dinner. Hmm.

I’m not actually going to upload a picture of my outfit as it was really, really plain… The only pretty thing was the MA*RS skirt, and the sweater made me look all weird… Sorry guys!

Anyways, I guess that’s all for now! Sorry for the rambling and the never-ending list of photos… But I just wanted to do everything Christmas-related in one post so that I can move onto the new year. I’m just so excited! Are you?

One final photo~

Until next week!

All Loved Up

I had such a good start to this month! I was very selfish and had my boyfriend all to my self. It’s been ages since I last saw him – over a month! – so I always try to spend as much time with him as possible whenever I see him.

He arrived at mine on Friday and we treated ourselves by going to a new Chinese restaurant, and when I say ‘new’ it just means that it wasn’t Wagamama. We go there way too much so needed something refreshing! Chinese restaurants are also nice anyway. I wanted to be all dolled up and pretty so I wore my lashes! I was a bit sceptical at first because even though they’ve been okay so far I was just worried about being let down and getting a busted eye again. I even curled my hair, which I haven’t done in what seems like ages.

We ordered this set meal kind of deal where you just get loads and loads of little dishes served in three sections, and boy was there a lot of food! Here are some photos I took really quickly (as we were starving) so please excuse me if they’re blurry.

To be honest the food wasn’t that great but I was so hungry I didn’t care. It was for a really good price as well so I can’t really complain but I don’t think I’ll get this ‘feast’ again. I don’t know, I guess I’m just really picky when it comes to meat but the duck pancakes were to die for.

Me and my honey <3 Wow, my front camera is shocking!

Then on Sunday we went for a bit of Xmas shopping in London! I managed to doll up on that day as well as my eye was fine after our dinner, plus who doesn’t want to look pretty when going shopping? Hopefully this is a sign that this lash adhesive is okay for my uber-sensitive eyes! I went for the agejo look again because I love that style so much. Slowly fulfilling my dreams of being a MA*RS gal…

We went to the Stratford Westfield because it’s the only place I know that has a decent amount of shops without me having to trek all the way across London. It was absolutely perfect and I managed to get a couple of bits and bobs but restrained from getting anything for myself (December is a really bad month for me, money-wise… all of those presents that need buying!) It was actually pretty tiring after a while so we grabbed some tea and chilled out for a bit.

Little things like this make my day 😀

Afterwards was our double date with Pixie Late and Alex! They are amazing people and I really enjoy spending time with them. We get along so well and can talk about almost anything so it was really nice seeing them so soon after Expo (‘soon’ as in around a month’s time hahaha). It’s nice that my honey was able to talk to them too because we all share the same interests which is great 😀

Me & Pixie Late! <3

And that was it! Now that I look back it doesn’t really sound as if I’ve done a lot that weekend but trust me, shopping and eating did take up most of our time. Did I mention that my honey and I were right ol’ pigs and ate lots of chocolate and ice cream as we watched The Mummy? Well, I guess I have now!

Baby Come Back

Oui c’est moi, Lizzie, back from her much-deserved break! Eurgh I seriously needed it as the past few weeks have been crazy! I’m so excited to be back not wearing makeup to uni and doing lots of work… Not.

Anyways, today’s post is about my time at MCM Expo! I was working with my bby Pixie at her Pixie Bunny stall and I had so much fun! I met loads of new people despite working behind the stall, and took part in the fashion show representing Agejo-gal. I was so nervous though, so when it was my turn to walk down the ‘catwalk’ I rushed my poses so I could hurry away. How embarrassing ><” Luckily I worked alongside Jada and Rosanna, or I would’ve died in embarrassment.

Here’s me and my lovely Pixie <3

I was also working right behind Charli and Dom who were working at the hentai store and omg she’s got such amazing boobs *_* People couldn’t stop staring at her, and I joked that she’s the reason why they had so many customers hahahaha.

Oh and something really amazing happened. I was serving one of our customers and she looked up at me and exclaimed, “Oh!” I got a bit worried until she asked if I ran a blog called mysticthorn, and told me she was one of my readers >///< I was so happy! It’s such an amazing feeling, and the cutie even asked if she could have a photo so here’s me and her!

Her FB page: https://www.facebook.com/sachiecosplay

I mentioned that I went on the catwalk, didn’t I? And how I was so nervous that I felt like such a fail? Well, here are some photos!

Credit goes to Leti!

After the catwalk we had some photos taken of us individually and as groups! :3

I absolutely love this photo <3 Me, Jada & Rosanna!

Okay so I’m kind of running out of words so I guess I can let the photos do the talking.

Me wearing one of Pixie Bunny’s rabbit ears! Aren’t they adorable?
Photo from Marie~
A special mention to Svetlana who I finally got to meet after knowing her for seven years!

You could tell I had so much fun by the way that I’m grinning like an idiot in almost all of my photos, d’oh! Oh well…

Look & Outfit

This was my look for the day ~ I woke up super early in order to curl my hair, only for it to die because our darling England seemed to be suffering from a lot of wind & rain this month >_>

Jewellery: MA*RS and Primark
Top: MA*RS
Skirt: MA*RS
Socks: Peacocks
Heels: Dorothy Perkins

I guess that’s all for now! Wow it’s getting cold now isn’t it? So warm up my darlings! Don’t want you all getting ill or anything (like I did the other week ;_;) <3

Love you all! <3

P.S I actually had to cut down on the majority of my photos because there were so many ^^”

Last Days of Freedom

It’s that time of year when the summer holidays are coming to the close and everyone goes back to uni. Thank goodness I wrote my previous post, “How To Be A Gyaru & A Student” in time! I hope that you all found it useful and are enjoying your new year at school/college/uni.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how my bank is suffering tremendously from the amount of online shopping I do, MA*RS in particular. It’s such a beautiful brand but I really need to stop buying stuff!

A new idea then popped into mind: why don’t I do a budget gal challenge? I’m thinking of only spending £50 a month on gal and each month I’ll go down by, say, £5 or £10, and see if I can survive (haha). My bank will thank me for it and I could then use that money for uni supplies.

Ah, uni. I miss it so much so I’m really looking forward to going back and studying my final year! I can already see my social life coming to an end but I’m going to work my ass off to make sure I could still see my friends outside of uni & work.

So I guess my shopping trip with Charli & Emi will be one of my last days of freedom and of spending! Charlie had recently gotten back from ‘Merica and I haven’t really spent much time with Emi before, but I had such an amazing day! Was very girly filled with shopping (although I didn’t buy much). I went for the more casual-agejo look because although I do love MA*RS I really need to search for new coords that don’t really rely on that brand. I guess I did cheat a little in my outfit as I attached a MA*RS bow that I bought recently, but oh well! At least I’m trying.

We met up in Chinatown to have some food before heading off to Stratford, bursting with excitement to buy some really cute cat clothes that we saw a couple of weeks back. When we got there… Well, we couldn’t find anything! I was so disappointed but luckily I found this amazing cat t-shirt that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. We then had a look in some other shops before heading to Pink Berry for some healthy yogurt.

Yeah… It ended up being not-so-healthy in the end for me! I had my mind set on getting something with strawberries, kiwi fruit, original yogurt, but that thought flew out the window as soon as the shop assistant asked if I wanted caramel yogurt. I ended up having caramel yogurt with chocolate sauce, Smarties, Belgian chocolate buttons and white chocolate. Not very healthy (and ended up being so sickly).

My “healthy” yogurt
My buys: T-shirt & skirt from Forever21, case from Primark

And that was it! It’s crazy how eating and shopping could take up so much time, but it was lovely nevertheless <3 I can’t wait until the next time I go shopping because I’m going to save up so I could actually buy stuff!

Me & the cuties <3

Look & Outfit

Top: Primark  |  Skirt: Primark  |  Heels: DreamV  |  Bow: MA*RS  | Jewellery: Muse

Guess that’ll be it for today! Kind of a short post, but hey, short and sweet ;D

So… Would anyone else like to join me for this budget gal challenge? I’m hoping to expand it a bit more in my next post of the ways I’m going to cut down on spending. Would be awesome to hear your views on this, and maybe some input on what you do on a budget!

Until next time~

MA*RS Twins!

I can’t believe how the summer holidays have flown by! It’s been a weeks since my holiday in Germany (which I still have to write about), my birthday is long gone, and you know what? I enjoyed every second of it. This summer holiday has definitely been the best I’ve had in ages because I’ve been able to actually arrange and attend meets as well as visit my family a hell of a lot more.

Me and my lovely friend Tania decided to meet up to do a MA*RS day just two days after meeting for my birthday gal meet, and went as “twins”! I had so much fun, and it was lovely just being able to spend a day eating, chatting, and taking lots of purikura.

In order of the “twinning” to work we tried to figure out what MA*RS clothes we had that were similar but unfortunately we didn’t have any, so instead we planned to have the same hairstyle (curled pigtails) and wear the same headband!

We met up at this bubble tea place; I was a bit early so I had this gorgeous bubble tea (that I can’t remember the name of ;_;) and some spicy fried tofu!

Sipping on my milk tea as I wait!

When Tania arrived we headed out to get some food because I was a greedy git hahaha. She took me to this restaurant that did massive – and I mean massive – portions. Just take a look at mine!

After our lunch we went to take some purikura!

It seems like the purikura place in London is still yet to close down, but it’s obvious that it’s going to. Most of the booths had been packed away but luckily our beloved Japanese booth was still there <3

It’s so hard to choose my favourites so here are my top three!

And the rest of them… We took two sets because they were on a special offer and chose to get the bigger ones instead of the usual 16.

I really enjoyed taking puri with her! We messed around quite a lot and pulled silly poses and it was so much fun! I love those kind of puris <3

Me & My Bby Tania <3333

Because it was still pretty early (ish) we thought a little shopping spree was in order so headed out to Camden Town. I didn’t get anything because I’m desperately trying to save money (which is so not happening right now) and I didn’t really see anything I liked. Tania bought some really cute cat tops and sweater though that I wish I had bought in the end! Oh well.

My feet then started to hurt after a while so we went to a nearby coffee place to have a drink and we were there for aaaaages talking about the most random of things! We soon realised that it was getting really late so we went back to the station and headed home.

Look and outfit:

Top lashes: Sakurina Buty Eye  |  Lower Lashes: Luminous Change (Pixie Bunny)

Headband: Pixie Bunny  |  Set: MA*RS  |
Jewellery: MA*RS (Gorgeous Barbie)  |  Shoes: Top Shop

On the train home I was thinking about my addiction to MA*RS and realised that I really should stop buying that stuff. Ever since I started buying MA*RS I began to think that it was the only way to dress agejo when that’s totally not right! I need to figure out some “everyday agejo” coords that doesn’t rely heavily on MA*RS… For the sake of my bank and my addiction!
So if anyone sees me buying more MA*RS after this week (I had cheekily bought some MA*RS bags and purse) then gimme’ a slap on the wrist! Haha.

Anyway, that’s all for today!

Birthday Gal Meet!

I have about just under an hour of freedom before I hit the road to go to London again; too little time to watch an episode of Supernatural, but just enough to blog!

I mentioned in my previous post that it was my birthday, and this post is about my birthday meet! It was only me and a couple of gals but it was just nice to hang out and see people that I don’t usually see on a daily basis. My boyfriend was round mine for the weekend as well so he came along. Thank goodness there were other guys there that he could talk to!

I dressed up in oraora this time to take a break from the usual agejo, and it was so nice and refreshing! Here’s my look for the day:

Me and my boyfriend on the way to the meet!

There was me, my boyfriend, Tania, Alex, Rin, Rin’s boyfriend Jamie, Wib, Silver, Emmie, and Jess! It was Silver’s leaving do yesterday but I couldn’t make it, so I was glad that I could meet her before she left to Japan.

We were originally going to take purikura but boy it was like a sauna in that place. Having no air conditioning didn’t help and we all decided that it was best to leave it otherwise we’d melt in there. Instead we had some bubble tea at Boba Jam and then headed off to get some food at Mr Taro. I had a yummy chicken ramen.

After that we went to a nearby park to relax for a little bit. Unfortunately we hadn’t taken a group photo but here are photos of me and some of the girlies:

Jess, Wib, Rin & Me
Me & Tania

Tania got me a really cute headband that she handmade and is also selling at her store Pixie Bunny! I’ve been eyeing it up for ages and was so happy when she said she got me a birthday present >///< Love you bby <333

It was starting to get a bit chilly (because despite it being sunny, it was pretty windy) so we decided to wander around and see if we could find somewhere to sit, and instead found a Pret-A-Manger which was even colder because of the air conditioning -_- everywhere else was just so busy! We sat there for about an hour before making our way to the karaoke place which was about 20 minutes walk away, and that’s where Silver, Emmie and Jess said their goodbyes ;_;

So now it was just me, my boyfriend, Tania, Alex, Wib, Rin & Jamie! As soon as we got into the karaoke place we took a picture because the kind lady there gave us a medium room (only charging us for the small room price) and an extra 20 minutes! How amazing is that?

Alex, Tania, Jamie, Rin, Me, Wib & my boyfriend. We all look as we were possessed or something 😛

After an hour and 20 mins of singing I was feeling a bit peckish so we went upstairs to have some yummy food. It’s actually a really good restaurant and it looks really posh as well!

I had chicken katsu curry! Yummy!

And that was it! By the time we had finished it was past half 8 so everyone decided that it was a bit too late to do anything else and headed home. It was such an awesome day, and I loved the karaoke because I could behave like an idiot along with everyone else, haha! My favourite song was Barbie Girl…

Hey There, Birthday Girl!

Right so I was going to write a blog post about my holiday but that went horribly wrong – because I am an idiot and didn’t press save – so instead I’m going to write one about my birthday!

It was a pretty quiet one because I had just come back from holiday a couple of days before so really couldn’t be bothered to host a big party. Instead I spent it with my sister and boyfriend and it was so perfect!

I started the day by dolling up and getting ready because I, unlike all of the other people in the house, was actually awake because I was so excited. I hadn’t felt such excitement on my birthday since I was a little kiddie and it was such a lovely feeling. Then I realised it was perhaps the last day I could behave like a kid as now I’m a proper “adult” ;_;

This was my look for the day and my outfit! I finally had the chance to wear my MA*RS dress from Gorgeous Barbie <3 I absolutely love that shop, but I really should stop buying from them because I’m not a billionaire just yet ;D

Angel Eye & Luminous Change

Now onto my presents! I can’t believe how lucky I was this year, I’m so happy with everything >///< I think what mattered most was because the people I loved were there <3

I unfortunately missed out a necklace ;_;

I then went to go shopping! I didn’t really buy that much as we only had an hour before the film started. These were my buys:

From good ol’ Primark
All from Miss Selfridge
New Look (sorry for the blurriness!)

Then we had to rush off to watch Monsters University! It was such a good film; they tied up all of the loose ends, and the story was just so brilliant that I really wouldn’t mind watching it over and over. Here’s the trailer if you don’t know what I’m talking about 😀

And now for the dinner! We all had a meal at a local pub/restaurant and wow they really didn’t disappoint. I’ve had dinner there before but it wasn’t brilliant, but they really surprised me this time. I had some yummy steak tehe.

As I was finished eating the waitress came over… With a birthday cake fully lit with candles. I was so incredibly surprised because we were all talking about ordering a desert and the waitress just acted like normal by bringing out desert menus. It was such a lovely gesture ;_; <3

My Boyfriend, Me & My Sister <3

And then that was it! It was a fantastic day and I’m so happy that I spent it with my sister and boyfriend <3 Thank you so so much guys for making my day really special ^3^ <3 <3

Chasing The Sun; UK Gal Meet!

I hosted meet in London last Sunday, and I must say that it was definitely a success! While there weren’t as many people there as we would normally have, everyone was so lovely and I had such a relaxing time. I think it was the first time where we weren’t rushing to go anywhere, and spent at least a couple of hours just relaxing at a park in the sun.
Sun?! Yes, Britain finally has some sun! I’ve been feeling quite depressed over the past couple of days – even went so far to think about selling my gal brand items – because of the sh*tty British weather, but today it proved me wrong. We finally reached the highs of 26 degrees celsius which we haven’t had in such a long time.

At the meet there was me, Marie, Yamii, and Finlay and three other new people that I haven’t met before Wib, Kei Kei and Jade. We first headed out to get some food at this Japanese restaurant called Mr Taro as the purikura machines were closed for lunch. Even though I’ve been to London a fair amount I’m still a bit of a n00b when it comes to food so it was nice to go somewhere new. Marie’s recommendation was perfect; the food was yummy and at a very good price!

I had Chicken Ramen and they used this delicious marinade on it *_*

Then we did the usual purikura because it is thankfully still open. Whether or not it’s closing is still up in the air so hopefully it’ll stay for a little longer… I don’t know what I’ll do without it ;_;

This is my favourite one hahaha!

We took full advantage of the good lighting and snapped some more photos!

It was the first time I wore this dress because of the crappy season, and I’m in love with it *_* can’t get enough of MA*RS! I originally wore this with over-the-knee socks but it got way too hot.

After purikura we were all dying for a drink and went on to get some Bubble Tea from Cuppa Cha! My name was “Tinkerbell” this time, although I forgot to take a photo of it ;_;
While we were waiting we pulled faces at Kei Kei who was waiting outside, and she took this amazing photo of us <3

So we were just sitting outside in Chinatown when this Chinese guy went up to Marie and asked if he could stroke her feet o_o He obviously had a serious foot fetish because he had to stroke it twice and stroked mine as well… That’s when we decided it would be nice to leave Chinatown haha!

The rest was bit of an improvisation because we didn’t really have anything planned which was great because it turned out to be a very relaxing day! We did head out to Japan Centre though as I wanted to get my hands on a Ageha magazine but it turned out to be ridiculously expensive so I didn’t bother. It was so hot that we decided to have a sit down at a nearby park next to Buckingham Palace, and spent the rest of our day there 😀

So here’s my makeup and outfit shots:

My original outfit!
Dress: MA*RS | Jewellery: Muse | Socks: Primark | Shoes: Dorothy Perkins

I had such an awesome time. I think this was the first meet where we really relaxed and just chilled out beneath the summer sun (oh how poetic). I think I would definitely do a meet like this again! Especially because there are so many lovely people in the UK gal comm <3 I love you all! <3

That’s all for today! A bit of a photo spam but what the heck, you love it really ;D

Black & Gold: Meetup with Charli!

On Tuesday I met up with one of my closest friends, Charli! I haven’t seen her since October and because she’s going to Japan soon for a couple of weeks I wanted to see her before she went~ I really miss seeing her, and we’ve both agreed to meet up more often now that I’ve settled in a sort of timetable thanks to my new job 😀

For some stupid reason I woke up ridiculously early and I realised that my promise ring had disappeared! ;_; I had been wearing it for over two years, and I still can’t find it.. I’m so heartbroken because although I had misplaced it a couple of times I always found it within ten minutes. I had searched every nook and cranny within this room (as that was where I had put it before I went to sleep) but it’s nowhere to be found! ;_;

Because of that I couldn’t go back to sleep, and although me and Charli said that we would go all casual I decided to try out sujimori. It was a massive fail so I tried doing some flicks instead, but even then it wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be so I quickly curled the bottom. Apparently having sujimori with straight hair is a lot harder than with curly hair so next time I’ll just curl it.

Tried out a new eye make technique: Cat Eye! Meow~

So after all of that chaos I was ready to go and meet her! We went to purikura first but it was still closed so we headed out to go to Japan Centre but they didn’t have any magazines we wanted, so we went to get some food at Suki (this cute little Japanese restaurant in Chinatown). I ordered Tempura Ramen and had forgotten just how much there was o_e

Purikura was then open so we went and took some purikura together 😀 <3 I love taking purikura with Charli because of how we just improvise and come up with the most random poses ever.

These were my favourites:

Then took a picture while we were waiting for the purikura to print out :3

Her friend then came along to join us and I went to get my first ever bubble tea! They had opened a new place called Cuppa Cha right across from the purikura, and I had Jasmine Milk tea. It was so delicious!

We went to get food again because it was around dinner time and Charli’s friend was hungry so we went to the Little Korean. I had some crispy tofu and miso soup and it was so nice <3 I want to learn how to cook them!

We walked around London for a while, but then it was time to head home. I had so much fun though and I miss Charli so much ;_; Can’t wait until I see her again!

OOTD:

Top: Primark; Hoodie: Listen Flavour; Belt: Yumentebo; Tights: Select;
Shorts: Reveal; Boots: eBay; Earrings: Muse

I guess that’s all for today folks! Wow I had taken so many pictures o_o So sorry for the photo bomb aga! 😛 Well then, until next time 😀

‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay

(wow this is a really late post… nearly 10pm! Has to be my latest one yet)

Some of you may/may not know that I have finally discovered my style… Agejo!

It’s all thanks to MA*RS really; if I hadn’t started buying MA*RS then I wouldn’t know how much I would fall in love with the brand and the style, so much that I actually want to do agejo for real. I always liked agejo but I was a bit scared of it and that it would never ever suit me. But I guess it never hurt to try it out!

I’m not going to wear MA*RS everyday because I haven’t got a lot of MA*RS items, and MA*RS is an extremely expensive brand so I’ll probably be broke for the rest of my life, aha. I’m going to dabble in other brands to help me build up my wardrobe because it’ll be boring just to stick with MA*RS (beautiful as it is) so I’m going to look for GOLDS Infinity and also at stores near me. Stockings, cute handbags, heels, accessories… Anything that doesn’t break the bank really!

I’ll probably talk more of my goals and things in a future post or even in small posts on Tumblr… Not too sure just yet.

Anyways, enough of that, here’s my most recent coord! I went to Cosmo with my family and decided to doll up for it :3

Dress: MA*RS, Necklace: DiDepux, Earrings: Muse,
Stockings: Primark, Heels: Dorothy Perkins

There has been a few discussions floating around about wearing no circle lens… So here I’ve not worn any lens to prove that you can still be gal without them! 😀

Please ignore how tired my eyes are! Had a really early start and long drive ;_;
Upper Lashes: Jewerich no.2
Lower Lashes: Diamond Lash Baby Eye

Ooh I’ve also downloaded an app on my phone that lets me create collages! Here’s one of my look and my full coord as well as makeup 😀

And a final picture of me and my sis 😀 <3

Oh yeah you know how I said I wouldn’t spend for around a month? Yeah, that didn’t work out so well. I went along and bought another MA*RS dress that is due to arrive soon. I can’t wait *_*

Anyways I guess that’s all I have for today! My eye has been messing up – again – but I still have a few posts lined up for you all ;D

Weekend avec ma sœur

It’s been way over a year since my sister last visited me, so a couple of weeks back we decided that she’ll stay over for a weekend during the half term! I was so excited as it has been ages since I had a girly time with her.

We were extremely lazy though and spent a lot of time in front of the TV with hot chocolate, but on Sunday (last Sunday that is) we dolled up just a little bit to go to town for some window shopping. We took a while to get ready though as I was feeling really lazy and couldn’t be bothered to rush into dolling up (plus I was gonna’ doll up later anyways so didn’t go full-out gal).

Chillin’ in my onesie
Tried out a new eye make technique

I told myself not to spend a lot but I couldn’t help myself with these pair of shoes *_* Luckily that was the only thing I bought though! I was being pretty strict on myself and I’ve made the goal of not buying anything at all for the rest of this month and maybe until next month. I’m totally going to regret that goal aren’t I.

Me & my sis <3

That night we headed to Wagamama and I had Itame and the white chocolate and ginger cheesecake! Was so yummy.

This was my look for that night! Obviously I had the same eye make and things, but I just touched everything up and did my contouring etc.

I recently bought a faux fur scarf and it arrived just before my sis came down!
It really keeps everything stylish and warm at the same time.

And then that was it! We only had one proper day to do anything because the next day I was driving back to my hometown with her blasting some Within Temptation (which she didn’t mind, surprisingly).

I guess that’s all for today’s post! I’ve got a few in the queue as I had quite a lot going on and a lot to tell you all 😀

Keep smiling <3

p.s. Can everyone please take a moment to post in my poll please! Would be great, thanks <3

Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year guys!

I know that it was in fact three days ago but thought I’d better say it late then never ;D

My boyfriend came down to see me for the weekend so we celebrated both Valentines and Chinese New Year! We decided not to get each other anything for Valentines because it’ll be our anniversary soon~ So we’re saving up for money for then 😛

Friday and Saturday were spent watching Sherlock – yes I have converted him to be a Sherlockfan ;D –  because I had uni and then work on Saturday, but on Sunday I drove over to the Wing Yip and bought loads of Chinese food! It’s been too long <3 I bought tons of dumplings and mantou… I think it might last me for quite a while ;D I was going to take photos but didn’t really have the time.

In the evening we went out to Cosmo! We were originally going to go to this other place but we realised that we had booked it at another city because the website didn’t state that it wasn’t in our hometown >< But Cosmo was still really nice! It’s much smaller than the one in my hometown but the food was delicious. I took full advantage of the Eton Mess ;D

I wore my complete MA*RS set and my new necklace! I was going to wear the bracelet but it’s slightly – ever so slightly – too big so I need to find a way to adjust that ><

I wasn’t too sure if it was okay to wear this because it started snowing, again. Eurgh I thought that I had finally escaped the snow and rain but HELL NAW.

Set: MA*RS
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
Jewellery: Muse and Di Depux

Upper lashes: Jewerich no.2
Lower lashes: Beauty Eye by Diamond Lash

Okay so I guess that’s all for now! Hope you all had a brilliant New Year 😀 I did!

FAQ

After quite a long time of wanting to do this, I’m finally writing up my FAQ/Q&A post!

These are the questions I have collected throughout my blog, Tumblr, FB, etc. that people have asked quite a lot of the time so I can just redirect people to this post when the same question has been asked again.

How tall are you?

I’m 165.5cm (so I’m actually quite short).

How did you find Gyaru? When did you start dressing it?

I found Gyaru purely through Google; I used to like Lolita (but never really dressed it) and I wanted to look for something similar that was more wearable. That’s when I found Hime Gyaru and a couple of days afterwards I discovered all of the other substyles of Gyaru. That’s when I started dressing Gyaru-kei and went on to experiment with lots of different styles. So I guess I started dressing it like a couple of months after finding it, and also when I started this blog!

What other styles of Gyaru do you like?

I’m a bit of a style chameleon when it comes to Gyaru as I find that I pretty much like all of the styles. If I did have to choose one, however, my main style would definitely be agejo.

Would you ever try Manba?

It’s not really my thing so no I don’t think I will. I know some people who rock it but in my personal opinion that style has died down to be replaced by a more updated version, tsuyome/96GAL.

What inspires you in Gyaru?

When I first found Gyaru I was immediately in awe of their massive eyes and beautiful lashes, and when I learnt that it was just circle lens and false lashes. I have “typical Asian”  lashes where they point downwards so they never ever curl, and I was jealous of my sister who had gorgeous long ones so false lashes really helped me out.

I also really like the way Gyarus carry themselves and I longed for that same confidence! I’ve still got quite a bit to go but I’m getting there.

What lashes do you normally wear?

This keeps changing according to how I feel but my favourites are Twinkle Lash Sexy Eye and Ageha for uppers. My taste in lowers keep changing too but I always fall back on Decorative Lash Sexy Eye (which is now gone forever *sobs*) when I can’t decide on what to wear.

What are your favourite Gyaru brands?

MA*RS is a definite favourite and is the only brand that I like despite my many style changes. I also like Liz Lisa to get my himekaji fix, and “normal” brands like Miss Selfridge, Boohoo and Missguided.

What makeup products do you normally use?

I showed my current favourites in this post here: “What’s In My Makeup Bag?” However I will be updating this very soon.

Are you in a Gyaru-sa? Are there any in the UK?

I sure am! Myself and my friend Wib have co-founded QueenE gyarusa, which consists of the lovely Kei, Rachel and Laura. We’ve had a few meets together since forming our circle, and you can read our first ever meetup here.
