Bourjois Colour Boost “Peach on the Beach” Lip Crayon Review

bourjois colour boost peach on the beach review

I recently added Bourjois’ Colour Boost “Peach on the Beach” Lip Crayon to my beauty collection to celebrate the coming of spring. I haven’t really experimented with lip crayons before, but I do have a couple already and I must say that I hands-down prefer them to lip gloss and lipstick. They’re just so much easier to apply and comes in so many colours!

I knew I had to get this one because of the colour. It was love at first sight when I saw it being displayed on the shelf so I instantly picked it up and bought it there and then. I’ve always wanted to try out peach tones after seeing some onee gyaru like Sayoko Ozaki pulling it off so well, and I was kind of getting bored of pink shades. I wear this as much as I wore my “nude” lip crayon! It also works really well with pink blusher which is a huge surprise as those two don’t normally work well together. I have really dark lips so the fact that a little bit of colour shops up on my lips is a miracle!

beauty review

gaijin gyaru lizzie bee

I love the fact that it’s a twisty one, so when the lippy runs out I could always twist it up. The twist is quite firm so I don’t accidentally twist it up when it’s in my handbag (something I had done with another one) so yay!

My heart sank when I noticed how sticky it was when applied, but it wasn’t too bad as my hair didn’t stick to my lips (elegant, I know) like it would when I wear lip gloss so it’s not too bad. I was hoping that it would be more buttery like some other lip crayons that I own, but nevertheless it was easy to apply so that’s okay. It provides that lovely glossy finish without it being too glossy, and it’s perfect for jazzing up an everyday look if you want to wear natural makeup.

However, it has a lovely smoothness to it that reminds me of lip balm. My lips get really dry and when I applied this is instantly moisturised my lips without me having to put on some vaseline beforehand.

Another problem… it tastes horrible when eating cereal. No lie – when I ate a spoonful of cheerios I nearly gagged. It tasted horrid! I hadn’t noticed the taste of it before but now I can’t stop noticing it. Luckily it isn’t too bad when eating other food that had a more powerful flavour to them, but I love to eat so this is highlighted as a potential problem for me.

I guess this review is overall leaning more on the positive side but there are a few negatives such as how sticky it is. Still, I would recommend getting it if you prefer lip glosses over lip sticks!

So, what is your favourite lippy? I’m dying to add more to my collection! Let me know in the comments below.

Until next Sunday! ♡

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Lace & Ribbons

liz lisa, himekaji, winter

I can finally say that I’m now a himekaji gyaru. It sounds weird saying it like that – himekaji gyaru, it doesn’t really flow well but then again just saying “himekaji” sounds weird too. Like himekaji what, exactly? Oh well what I want to say is that I’ve finally accepted that himekaji might just be the style I’m looking for. It’s perfect for going out with friends and even for work which is all I seem to do these days!

But himekaji is still quite difficult for me in winter, so Stephanie suggested I try out this gorgeous red knit! I was going to go ahead with that when my eyes clapped on this equally gorgeous blouse. A couple of weeks later they arrived on my doorstep (you probably recognise these babies in my haul post). I swear it feels like Christmas every time I open a package – especially when I know there’s Liz Lisa inside. I couldn’t wait to wear everything!

First Impressions
Everything was packed neatly and she had even thrown in a pair of over-the-knee socks (pictured in my haul post) as well as a My Melody plushie which was really nice of her! The sweater was quite bulky but oh so soft, and the lace top that came with it was pretty. I was a bit worried as I’m not really into wearing lace without something underneath as my skin could get a bit irritated by it, so I made note of it for when I do wear it.
The blouse was beautiful but looked quite short – the lace part goes down to my waist where it is then just a layer of chiffon, so it might not be suitable to wear right now. It looks easy to wear though as it’s quite stretchy and very soft – I could probably bundle this up and it wouldn’t ruin it.

01 | The Red Knit

Oh my gosh it was SO WARM. It was perfect because it’s been quite cold over here in England and all I needed to wear was the lace vest that came with it underneath and I was fine. Normally my skin would get irritated if I don’t wear long sleeves but this one was okay – the knit was surprisingly soft. I just love the lace and ribbon details on the side and did I mention that it came with a lace vest? (We’re pretty much getting two items for one…) I’ve worn this a few times since Valentine’s day and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s battling those cold winter seasons. They also come in different colours which is amazing!

02 | The Floral Blouse
It took me a while to actually wear this blouse because it’s not really the right weather for it, so I waited until I went shopping with my friend Lee and I was right – it is still a bit too cold to wear it so I paired it with my white fluffy hoodie. My stomach kept getting cold because of the thinner material, so this blouse is definitely for those warm winter days. The sleeves also come up a bit short but not too short that I felt stupid which I think was helped by the fact that they were in the thinner material. Thank goodness for the elasticated cuffs! Nevertheless it is super cute. I just love the peter pan collar and the floral details on the blouse.

That’s all for now cuties! I hope you liked this post and that it fed your Liz Lisa-needs haha. Don’t forget to check out Kawaii Gyaru Shop for more awesome Liz Lisa (and many more brands!) and use my code LIZBEE if anything takes your fancy. Go on, treat yo’self.

Recent Himekaji Purchases!

himekaji purchases

I can’t get enough of himekaji now. It’s just the perfect style for me – it’s super cute, and totally wearable for the everyday life. If I had to choose a version of himekaji though it would be old school; I just love the big hair and dramatic makeup…

I’ve been desperately trying to expand my himekaji wardrobe and seeing as it’s still freezing in England I decided to have a look around for any winter items. I really needed some sweaters and things that I could layer underneath that would also look cute but lately all of the stores have been releasing their Spring collections so it’s really difficult to get any winter items. I always seem to be late in buying seasonal items! Luckily I managed to grab a few items before they sold out, and it felt like Christmas when everything arrived.

Review: Lush Snow Fairy’s Castle Gift Box

Snow fairy, lush review, christmas gift

Hello and welcome to my first beauty blog post of the year! One of my resolutions was to start beauty blogging {read here}, and I’ve been doing a bit of research on Twitter for inspirational bloggers and with each blog I found I started to get more and more excited about it! I’ve always loved beauty blogging, so I’m amazed why I hadn’t started doing it sooner…

Today’s beauty blog post is about this gorgeous Lush gift box that I got from my sister for Christmas! Yes, I know Christmas is a lifetime ago but life has been pretty hectic so I wanted to save unboxing this, and now’s the time to do it! The one she got for me was Snow Fairy’s Castle and oh my gosh it was amazing. I can’t get enough of it’s sugary sweet scent!

Inside was Snow Fairy Shower Gel, Fairy Dust Dusting Powder, Magic Wand Bubble Bar and Sowhite Bath Bomb!

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Liz Lisa Winter Florals

himekaji, liz lisa, kawaii gyaru shop

Did you know that Liz Lisa was the first brand I fell in love with, when I first found out about gyaru? It started when I found a picture of Yui Kanno wearing it for a winter collection (I can’t remember which year) and from then on I was asking around to see if I can buy anything. Back then it was really hard to get branded items, unless you got it second hand from a friend, and I didn’t really have a job because I was too young so my chances of having Liz Lisa were slipping… To all newbie gals – you are incredibly lucky that there are now more options to get branded items, for some of us it was a luxury and a 1/1000000 chance. Thank goodness for shops like Kawaii Gyaru Shop*! I don’t know what to do without it

I’m still slowly building my Liz Lisa wardrobe but one of my goals next year is to wear more of it. I think it’s because it’s so different to my usual agejo style that I can’t seem to get enough of it! My first stage is to be able to wear it in winter, and when Steph suggested this fleece Liz Lisa dress I fell in love. Within a couple of weeks it arrived on my doorstep and I couldn’t wait to try it on! I also received some cute Christmas cat tights which I took a picture of in my previous post.

Petite Cherry Review

petite cherry review, push-up bra, longline lace bustier

I’m doing something a little bit different today by reviewing some cute lingerie from Petite Cherry (formerly known as Kaurls Laurel). I’ve got a really soft spot for cute lingerie so when I had a loook at the site I was nearly having a heart attack by how pretty everything was! The models were drop-dead gorgeous too tehe. It was so hard to choose which pair I wanted, but in the end I chose this gorgeous pink set that I just couldn’t take my eyes off it.

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Liz Lisa Sailor Collar Set

Hey cuties! How are you today? I’m so happy because my Liz Lisa set from Kawaii Gyaru Shop arrived the other day! I’ve been eying it up for a while, so couldn’t hold back from opening it as soon as it came through the door. I wasn’t disappointed; it is as gorgeous as it looks in photos, perhaps even more beautiful!

So I got everything planned for the day where I can take photos wearing it, I even decided what kind of makeup and hair stye I wanted to do until I woke up that morning and found myself with a puffy left eye. Not cool.

That wasn’t going to stop me though! Et voila, here are my photos!

My Recent Gyaru Haul: Cute Things for Spring!

Hey guys! How are you today? ♡

I went on an online shopping spree a few weeks ago and yesterday the last item arrived so I can finally show you all what I bought! I know what you’re thinking, “oh Lizzie is buying stuff AGAIN”, but I’ve got a very good excuse this time and that is that everything was from eBay!

Well, sorta’.

I’ve just been so fed up of spending so much money on gyaru brand that I’ve taken a step back and refused to buy anything unless it was dirt cheap or secondhand from a friend. I’m going cold turkey and be a budget gyaru! I feel so much better about it and now I can spend more money on seeing my friends.

And now presenting, my recent gyaru buys!

Sticking with the pastel-coloured theme, I bought this baby pink crop
top & aqua blouse because I think they would work really well with
my white Liz Lisa shorts & the new shoes! Obviously it would be too early in the year to wear the aqua one, but I think it’ll look really nice with a white blazer for the office. I love it when I can wear one item for lots of different styles!

The tights were supposed to be “white” but they came out cream… But I guess it’ll still be okay with my shorts and pastel coords.

The sunglasses & daisy hair clips are for when I want to go for a cute, summery look, and I could wear them with my Liz Lisa stuff too 😀 Or even for the Swankiss-style coords! Who knows! They were too cute not to buy.

These shoes are probably one of the most beautiful ones I’ve owned. I’ve been looking for ones similar to these for a really long time and with the help of my cutie Melissa, I managed to find them! I was careful this time and asked the seller for measurements before buying them, and they fit perfectly. I can’t wait to put an outfit together with these babies.

I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to phone cases and I couldn’t help myself when I saw this one. It’s just so so cute! I’m not too sure about the “hello coolway” bit though… It’s obviously a replica, but it’s still cute!

I bought this phone charm from my bby Charli who owns Honey LY. It’s so adorable! I’ve been falling in love with Little Twin Stars more, especially because blue, pink & white are my favourite colours. It’s a shame that I won’t be able to use it with my new phone case as it hasn’t got a place to hang it off ;_; But nevermind! I have plenty of other cases for that.

And last, but definitely not least, my Ageha magazine that my friend Emmie managed to get this for me from Japan! I’m so happy that Ageha has made a comeback; the makeup is still a little plain but hopefully it’ll get more dramatic soon. Here are my favourite pages:

Gah I totally forgot that I bought this Liz Lisa sweater from the lovely Pixie! It’s too warm to wear right now, but at least I have something cute for autumn/winter.

I’m really happy with all of my buys! It’s just so nice buying lots of things but for really cheap prices tehe. I think I’ll be living off eBay for a while but it’s not a bad thing. I’ve got a few things I want to buy like frilly socks so I’ll upload more photos on my Facebook page and Instagram.

So what have you guys bought recently?

Until next Sunday~

A Touch of Magic!

Hey cuties! How are you today? ♡

I went to see Cinderella with a friend last weekend! I was supposed to see it ages ago but I had to push back my plans because I was ill ;_; So it gave me something to look forward to!

I decided to wear something a bit more ‘princess-y’, and what’s more princess-like than my Liz Lisa set? I’m so happy that I was able to get this from Kawaii Gyaru Shop as they sell out so quickly… I’m hoping to get more Liz Lisa items when it gets warmer. Idk why but I’ve been really digging light, ‘girly’ gyaru looks!

Instead of wearing the whole set I just wore the top and paired it with some light-coloured jeans to make it look more casual. It’s finally starting to get warm enough to wear all of my spring stuff!

I also received my Sailor Moon Selfie Stick from Official Syndrome Store that I won in a giveaway back in February! There were a few complications with shipping (Easter is a b*tch in terms of postage) but I was so happy to receive it in the end. I was so worried that it was going to be lost in the mail again.

sailor moon selfie stick

As I had an hour or so to spare I decided to have a play around with it. I’m still trying to get to grips with it… I can’t balance anything to save my life!

I love this selfie stick! It’s going to take me a while to get used to, but it’s so cute! ꒰* ॢꈍ◡ꈍ ॢ꒱.*˚‧♡

After my selfie session I went off to the cinema! Is it me or is it getting more and more expensive to go and watch films nowadays? I easily spent nearly £15 just buying a ticket and some popcorn o_o Such a rip off! But I had a really nice time all the same. I just loved Cinderella’s ball dress, and the prince was played by Richard Madden who I really liked in Game of Thrones.

That dress *_*

After the cinema I then treated myself to some ice-cream/sundae! I got ‘Chocolate Overload’ and it was delicious *3*

That’s all for today! Have you guys seen Cinderella? I would definitely recommend the film to those
who love Disney! It pretty much stuck to the original storyline, and the
costume design was amazing.

Until next Sunday~

Kawaii Deluxe Review: Ageha Princess Eyes False Lashes

Hey everyone! How’re you?
I can’t believe it’s the second week of February! I’m still thinking that it’s January… It’s crazy! However this means that it’s getting closer and closer to spring which means I will finally be able to wear pretty clothes *_*

I’ve been doing a lot of “sweet” looks recently so when Kawaii Deluxe told me to take my pick from their store, I chose these babies – Ageha Princess Eye! I’ve got tons of dramatic lashes so I wanted to try out something more natural!

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, these thoughts are 100% my own!

The lashes arrived in no more than a week~ this was such a surprise as I was thinking that it would take a lot longer than that. Kawaii Deluxe were definitely ticking boxes so far!
Everything was nicely wrapped and they had even left a note and some sample BB cream. They’re so cute!

kawaii deluxe packaging

Now time for the lashes. After taking a closer look at them I realised that they were a lot less dramatic than I thought. I haven’t actually tried out this style before where the lashes were more clumped together at the ends, so I was bursting to try them on!

ageha princess eyes false lashes

I went for a casual look, and in the end I had to ditch my lower lashes because… Well, you’ll see in the photos.

They were natural, yes, but a bit too natural. Like I said I didn’t need to wear any bottom lashes with these as it wouldn’t balance, so I just added more mascara.
Now them being a bit too natural would be a downfall in normal circumstances but for me, who wanted natural ones, they were perfect. I could get away with wearing these in an office as it was a very subtle effect… But for gyaru? No, these are too natural (unless you were heading down the Popteen route where they’re toning down a lot).

Thinking about offices gave me the idea to try these on with my glasses and viola! They were perfect! I had used a lash curler to make them stand upright a bit more and they barely brushed against my glasses. So for those who want to do the natural look and wear glasses, these lashes are perfect for you!

false lashes for glasses

Now it’s time for the ratings!

Postage & Packaging

Absolutely perfect. Everything was carefully wrapped, and the little note was super cute! Got to give them extra points for shipping everything out really quickly as well.

Customer service

Amazing! Responded to my emails within 24 hours – nice!

Appearance of Lashes

I quite like this style of having the lashes more compact at the ends as it’s perfect for the cat eye effect.

Dramatic-ness

I’m still not too sure about these lashes because they are a bit too natural for me, so it’s a low rating from me. You can barely see them on but I guess this means it’ll be good for school/work.

Usability ♡

Very easy to use! Great for everyday wear, too, so bonus points for that!

Overall (For Lashes)
Overall I probably wouldn’t recommend these lashes for those interested in gyaru, but for general “kawaii” style these are great for those who are still at school! The teachers wouldn’t even notice them tehe. It was partly my fault that the lashes have an overall low rating – next time I’ll stick to my dramatic lashes!

Overall (Service)

However I would definitely recommend buying from Kawaii Deluxe; they were incredibly friendly and responded to my emails within the day, and the package didn’t take long to arrive at all! This bumped up the rating a little bit, because like I said I was the one who chose the lashes, and they have an amazing range at their store!

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Liz Lisa Fairy Tale

Hey cuties! How are you all?

It’s been so cold over here in the UK! I’m actually finding it quite difficult to write this post because my hands are so cold ;_; But it’s okay, I’ve got some tea to warm me up 😀

Today I want to show you these gorgeous dresses that I got from Kawaii Gyaru Shop! The owner, Stephanie, is a god-send. She knew exactly what I wanted and I can’t thank her enough for her kindness!

The dresses that I’m going to show you are both from the brand Liz Lisa, and as predicted, they are absolutely beautiful!

Liz Lisa Organdy Tunic and Sukapan Set

The first one I tried was the Liz Lisa Organdy Tunic and Sukapan Set. When I saw it I knew I had to get it, so I was really excited when she told me that she had a white one in stock!

When I opened it I was amazed by the detail on the material – it reminded me of the patterns on wedding dresses, and it was like I was thrown into a fairytale! I felt like such a princess tehe. There is a tie on the back so you could have it however tight/loose you wanted, with a zip on the side to make it easier to put on.

The skirt has an elastic waist which was quite generous, so that was easy to slip onto. What I didn’t know was that it had built in shorts – this is a definite positive for me because I always get worried of flashing my knickers… So if you don’t like wearing short skirts, this is perfect for you!

Because the set was made from more than one layer it was actually a bit thicker than I expected, so I think that you could get away with wearing it on cooler spring days. However I got really cold in this outfit so I decided to try and show you that you can wear it when it’s cold too!

liz lisa winter coord

To layer it up I just wore some thick black tights and made sure there were other black elements to my outfit. Here I changed my jewellery, but a small black clutch bag would complete it.

liz lisa velour winter dress

gyaru winter coord

himekaji gyaru

Liz Lisa Velour Winter Floral Dress

Now this dress is absolutely perfect for winter; it’s made from velour which is a heavier material, but what makes it so thick is that it’s fully lined. Instead of having any zips it has shirring around the back and below the bust which made it really easy to slip into. It’s very stretchy so great for plus-sized gals!

This is actually one of the very few dresses that I have that can be worn both on the shoulder or off, but I much prefer it when it fell just off the shoulders. It added a hint of sexiness, but looks very cute at the same time!

Overall

All in all, I would highly recommend these two items! I fell in love as soon as I took them out of the packaging (which was done perfectly, by the way) and I can’t wait to wear them more often! Kawaii Gyaru Shop shipped out my items in less than a day after I placed my order… WITH a tracking number! How cool is that? And I received everything in around two weeks; that’s from it being shipped from America to the UK!

Kawaii Gyaru Shop has tons of nice clothes on her store, you should totally check it out!

Until next time my cuties

p.s. Please note that although this is a sponsored review, these thoughts were entirely my own!

Yesstyle’s OOTD: Ghost of Harlem

ghost of harlem, rokku gyaru, yesstyle review

I wore rokku gyaru the other day as it had been a while since I’ve done it, and I just had to wear this Ghost of Harlem dress from Yesstyle. I’m so happy that they sell brands on their website, especially as it’s quite hard to get Japanese brand online without having to pay an extortionate amount. This is actually my first rokku-branded item (can you believe it?) and I kind of want to buy more now… But I’ve got to think about my bank. One day, Lizzie, one day!

It wasn’t ‘too’ cold to wear, seeing as we’re already closing in on December, but I can see myself layering this dress up with a sheer blouse underneath. Rokku is great for layering up and I could always switch up my New Look shoe boots for over-the-knee ones.

Sponsored Review: HimeNailShop

Hey cuties! How are you this weekend? Having fun?

I’ve had a huge obsession with false nails lately… Because of my job I can’t really wear the super long ones but I have slowly started getting used to wearing them! I think my longest pair were my Halloween ones that I did… But everyone starts from somewhere, don’t they?

To me, nails are a huge part of gyaru! I haven’t really thought it before but the tiny details do really make the coord complete! That’s why I was really happy when I saw that my friend Heather started selling some of her nails on Etsy >////< Now I can have easy access to short but pretty false nails!

The nails I received were these gorgeous pink to purple glitter ombre ones that actually have some cute crystals on them! I asked for the short option because she does both long and short nails!

Please note that also this is a sponsored review, these thoughts are 100% my own!

I was really in the oraora/tsuyome/ane gal mood when I tried these on so I just HAD to dress to reflect them >///<

oraora gyaru nails

oraora gyaru

Anyway, onto the ratings!

Postage and Packaging

I received them in a lovely little box – which I now use for storage
tehe – along with a  thank you card! So cute! It was really nice because
she actually put some thought into her packaging! It took about just
over a week to nearly two to arrive as she ships from America, so you
American readers are lucky ;D

Communication

Despite our time differences, she replied to me really shortly after my messages! She handled the whole situation with one of the nails being slightly small perfectly, and my replacement nails were sent out really quickly.

Appearance

I loved how they looked and thought they went really well with oraora and the “harder” gyaru styles! They probably won’t go with my agejo wardrobe as much, but they are still really pretty.

Usability ♡

Knocked off a heart because I won’t be able to wear these much with my wardrobe… Maybe I need to buy some oraora stuff. But they come shorter which is good for working gals like me 😀 Unfortunately one of the little gems came off while I was food shopping and I don’t have anything to replace it ;_; Hopefully I can find something in my nail supplies!

Overall

Overall I was really happy with my item! Obviously I knocked off the remaining percentage because of the nail sizing and the crystal coming off, but everything else was perfect! I’d definitely recommend her shop!

Oh wait! Before I go…

As
you may have noticed, I made a few tweaks to my blog! The biggest one
is that I’ve now got a custom domain! I’m so, so happy! I thought it was
time to get one as it’s been so many years since I’ve first blogged… I
really hope to get better! I’ve also got a new Twitter so please follow! @3lizziebee

Okay now it’s really time to go! Ciao!

Happy Halloween! Trick or Treat?

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! Halloween is one of my favourite occasions of the year, but unfortunately I’m working so I can’t dress up ;_;

But to make up for it, I made some Halloween nails! I got some nail deco from Born Pretty Store which arrived just two days before Halloween! Just in time or what?

I’ve been trying to do more and more nails but I’m still a beginner ^^” I haven’t read got the knack for painting, but I try my best!

The nail deco I ordered were these ones from Born Pretty Store! I was kind of expecting to get the whole pack including the jack o’lanterns but apparently not! So guys please read the options carefully as it seems they only release one design, if that makes sense?

I ended up with the ghost faces which came as a pack of five, so plenty to do some nails! I used four, two for each of my accent nails, so I have one lying around for next year!

They were the perfect size for my nails! I love them!

I also wore red lipstick which I also got from Born Pretty Store for work (working on Halloween sucks) and oh my gosh I love the colour! It’s not too dark so that it drains the colour of my skin, but not too orange either. What’s handy is that it’s small so it’s easy to just take it out and reapply when needed!

I bought some Halloween accessories to wear at work too :3

I really wish I had dressed up for Halloween but I’m super tired.. Guess I’ll just be a real-life zombie then hahahaha =_=

Tired Lizzie is tired… Please excuse my no-make face!

That’s all for now! Have a wonderful halloween! I drew this picture to celebrate too :3
