I’ll tell you a secret… I am terrible at baking. Like, I haven’t baked anything in maybe 10 years now? The last time my hubby and I baked we used two boxes of Brownie mix and thought that because we used two, it meant we had to put it in the oven for twice as long and, well, as you can imagine, it didn’t go so well haha. But I was really determined to bake some Christmas treats and tick it off of my Christmas bucket list! So I found two super easy recipes: 1) A Toffee Apple Crumble with Hobnobs and 2) Easy Gingerbread Biscuits. I was so excited!
I won’t be writing out the recipes here because I’ll just be copying and pasting from other people’s websites, so I’ve linked to the recipes I’ve used. Okay, let’s bake!
Hobnob Toffee Apple Crumble
I was actually quite surprised by how good it tasted and it was incredibly easy to make. However, I’d recommend cutting up the apple into smaller chunks and breaking up the hobnobs into smaller pieces as I found that the chunks I did were far too big. Plus I later discovered that I didn’t have to peel my braeburn apples which would’ve saved me so much time. It tastes really good with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Easy Gingerbread Biscuits
This was by far my favourite thing to cook. It was really tricky but so worth it, and I was a lot better at it the second time around! So I think that I’ll be cooking this for sure for Christmas day. I actually cooked this again for my hubby because he was having a bad week at work, and used my gingerbread man cutter, and they were so much better!

I also filmed the progress of my first try so you can watch how bad I was at baking tehehe.
And that’s all for today!
Have you baked anything for Christmas?
Love,
Lizzie xx
