Clueless Inspired Outfit + Day Out in Bordeaux

As soon as I stepped out into the sunshine and onto the cobble-stone streets, surrounded by beautiful French architecture, I knew I made the right choice to wear my Clueless inspired outfit (with a gyaru twist, of course!). I’ve got to hand it to my friend Nini who actually persuaded me to wear it, and who also styled my hair in two cute little buns resting on either side of my head. I haven’t felt this cute in so long and was excited to be roaming the winding streets and tasting Bordeaux wine.

Our adventure started at the Place de la Bourse (aka my dream home) before we meandered our way to the Grand Theatre de Bordeaux where we met our other friend, Celine! They knew exactly the kind of things I was interested in – beautiful buildings, castles, and delicious food – and picked the most perfect route for me. I was so happy and grateful! We ticked off visiting the Puerta de Cailhau, the Grosse Cloche, Saint Louis des Chartrons, Place des Quinconces, speaking in ‘franglais’ all the way.

So, about the dress. I picked it out of the kids’ section in New Look and fell in love right away. Hellooooo Cher Horowitz vibes! I knew I had to do a Clueless inspired outfit and I’ve been really inspired by a lot of gyaru-kei and old school gyaru looks (thanks to EGG magazine) so I went for something colourful underneath – and what better than pink? We were going to do a lot of walking that day so I slipped on my comfy trainers and paired them with some frilly socks (we actually managed to do an impressive 16,000+ steps that day!)

And that’s it for today!

What do you think about these ‘themed’ gyaru looks? I really want to do more in future, especially of my favourite films… Maybe I should do a Mean Girls one next, what do you think?
