Dear Younger Me,
Life is fleeting. You’ll lose people you thought were invincible and it’s going to hurt. Bad. It’ll hurt so much that you can’t breathe but you can survive this. Smother those who mean the most to you with love and do all that you can to make them happy. That person you dismissed as annoying or irritating because they’re always there is perhaps one of the most important people in the world.
You’re going to hate how you look and hate how you feel but that’s okay, there are some wonderful people out there that are going to get you through your dark days. One day you will fall in love with yourself again but it’s going to take time. Don’t listen to those magazines telling you what you have to look like to be classed as beautiful and that being quirky is a bad thing. Quirky is good! The quirkier you are, the better, don’t ever be afraid of holding yourself back from who you really are.
Being normal is overrated – to be yourself is so much more important. Whoever came up with the saying, “you’re unique… just like everyone else” was a dick because that’s a really shitty thing to say. Everyone is unique. Sure there are some similarities between people but who cares? It’s good to have the same interest as someone else, that’s how you make friends. Just concentrate on what makes you happy and go ahead and do it.
Doing this might mean you’ll lose some friends, but you’ll also gain some and they will become the greatest friends you’ll ever have. Please don’t do things just for the satisfaction of others.

P.S. I’m not really one for personal posts so this was quite difficult for me to write. There are so many things I wish I didn’t do when I was younger but they served as lessons for me for the future, and you can’t regret the things that taught you how to grow. So what would you tell your younger self?
