A Love Letter to My Girl Gang

Love is in the air – and I’ve got so much love for my girl gang! Whether it’s old friends or new, I am so thankful to be surrounded by such inspirational women, and with Valentine’s Day on the horizon I thought I’d write small love letters to each of the women who have shaped my life in a big way.

A love letter to my girl gang for Galentine's Day by hellolizziebee

Kathy – my ultimate gal pal, the one who has never given up on me. We are polar opposites in every way but that’s what makes our lives so exciting. You always push my boundaries – especially when it comes to going out and doing things that normal people do – and I’m forever inspired by how you live life so freely. You don’t get into a ball of stress over every little thing but just shrug it off your shoulders, and this was a huge help for when I was tearing my hair trying to find bridesmaid dresses (btw you picked perfectly). I could go on and on about you but you already know how amazing you are, tehe!

Lydia – Remember when we wanted to be like Bratz and came up with the name ‘The Funkadelics’? Oh my gosh how cringe, but now that I think about it, it was the very beginning of our girl gang. It’s crazy to think how long you’ve put up with me, especially when I was going through my very moody teenager phase when I thought that I was ‘too old’ to be friends with you – how wrong I was! I’m so glad that I snapped out of that stupid phase and that you stuck by me. I cherish our friendship and even though we might not talk 24/7, I know that I can always rely on you when I need you.

Chewiee – Oh, where do I begin? You’ve changed me so much and are the reason that I am finally standing up for myself a little bit more. You created the ‘sassy Lizzie’ and I’m forever thankful for that, because past Lizzie didn’t have much of a backbone (sad, but true). I remember you telling me that going on holiday with someone makes/breaks a friendship, and I’m so glad that I went to Germany with you for that gal meet because it made our friendship what it is today. We are a dynamic duo!

Amy – I think I need to sit down before I ‘say’ this because holy hell what would I do without you. Every time I’m going through a rut – whether that’s because of this blog or with life in general – I know that you are just a phone call away and I don’t think I’ve ever told you how much I appreciate that. I think my brain would explode from all of the stress if I didn’t have you to talk to… You’re my rock!

Rhian – We’re new in our friendship, and I can’t believe how judgemental I was when I first saw you, but I’m so glad that I opened my eyes because girl – you rock! Every time I see a Harry Potter meme or something spooky I immediately think of you, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us. Sounds cheesy, I know, but it’s true!

QueenE – My ultimate ‘gyaru/girl gang’. We are still at our beginning stage of a circle (even though it’s fast approaching our 2 year anni) but for the first time I feel at ease, because I know that I have you gals to turn to when I’m stuck in a rut. You gals are what keeps the gal spirit in me alive, and I don’t feel stressed out nor self-conscious when I’m hanging out with you all which is so important when it comes to circles.

What would you write in your love letter to your girl gang?

Love,
Lizzie xx

P.S. Yes these are old photos from my Hen night because I just realised that I’ve never shared them on here! *shock horror*

Your face in that first photo is absolutely amazing haha! This is such a lovely post but kinda bitter sweet for me to read because I don’t have a real life girl gang or any close girl mates. I used to in school and sixth form but then you know, life. And I really hate it because in my every day “real” life, I feel like I have no support or no-one to turn to sometimes. But I’m so glad you have that support system and that you obviously care so deeply for these girls! <3

Tehe, thanks Jenny! It was by fluke because I thought everyone else was doing the same, but I just had to keep it! Awh I’m so sorry to hear that… I hope you can find your girl gang one day! But know that the people on Twitter – including myself – love and adore you!
