Gyaru Card (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡

Hey cutie ♡ 你好小可爱! How are you? My bby Leia created a gyaru card challenge and I absolutely LOVE challenges (especially if they’re gyaru related!) so I thought I’d give it a go! It’s been a very long time since I’ve done something like this, so it’s nice to catch up and get to know each other again ♡

Your nickname/gyaru/blogger name:
Lizzie Bee

Birthday:
August

Zodiac sign/blood type:
Leo! And idk what my blood type is…

Your style/fave style:
Himekaji and gyaru kei

Fave era/year:
2009-2011! Although recently I’ve also become interested in 2008… But it’s generally old-school himekaji.

Top 5 Japanese gyaru models:
It was hard for me to think of five, but here are my top four that never really change…

Okarie – Okarie is my main gal! I read her blog all of the time and I have a whole board dedicated to her on Pinterest. She’s such a huge inspiration to me and creates such interesting outfits! I also can’t believe she was the director of Ank Rouge at 22 (I think… She was very young!).

Gurigura – aka Chie and Chika Yoshikawa! I think they’re everyone’s inspiration but to be honest it’s no surprise because they look super gal! Chie’s blog is another one that I like reading, and she has really inspired me in the way she decorates her pictures. They also inspired me to have super curly hair!

Kumicky – if I see Kumicky on the front cover of Popteen, I know I have to get it. She is super cute (esp in the older issues) and always has a lovely smile on her face! Her makeup is a lot more toned down than the previous inspirations, but I still love her and think she’s a really good inspo for himekaji.

Satomin – Satomin was a huge inspiration to me when I was into agejo, and I especially loved her eye makeup! I didn’t really look at her pictures for a while until a few months ago when Georgie mentioned her to me and I fell in love all over again. What I also love about her is that she really rocks darker hair!

Fave magazine:
Popteen! Although issues no later than 2011 (it started really watering down after that…)

Top 5 brands:
Liz Lisa (obv), Tralala, RFF, Ank Rouge and Dear My Love/DreamV. I want to also mention MA*RS (even though that’s technically 6 brands) because it still has a special place in my heart. To be honest I will probably have to edit this post constantly because I always change my mind depending on my boom. While writing this post, I have fallen in love with JSG and CO&LU which is the complete opposite of my himekaji style haha.

Top 5 inspo coords:
Okay gosh this is HARD to pick just 5 lol but here we go! I’m really into old-school himekaji (pre-2010) and old-school Popteen looks, which my bby Darla calls “Popteen kei”.

Your top 5 coords:
Okay so this is a little bit easier tehe. Mostly autumn/winter co*des as they’re all from the “new era of Lizzie”! I’ll update it with some summer co*des later on.

Top 5 fashion must-haves:
I’m saying this from a himekaji point of view so –

For winter:

Slouchy woolly hat
Fluffy hair accessories
Heart motifs in jewelry
Ugg-style boots
Fluffy legwarmers

For summer:

Straw hat or cowboy hat
Usamimi
Brown/cream shoe boots
Brown waist belt
And a cute cream handbag

Top 5 gyaru goals:

To be an everyday himekaji/popteen gal!
Be able to put on self-tan without looking like a streaky mess
Go to one int meet every year! I miss them so much ;_;
Go back to Tokyo and take lots of purikura
Go to Israel and hang out with AKP on the beach (lol soz gals for the cringe)

Top 5 gyaru achievements:

Hosted an international gal meet with my circle QueenE, “Gyaru Jubilee!
Made some incredible friends in the comm who I really cherish and adore
Figured out how to do overnight curls
Built up a lovely collection of gyaru mags
Showing off my gyaru style at Hyper Japan fashion shows

Last 5 gyaru gets:
I’m going to be filming a haul video on my channel soon of my recent gets, but they haven’t arrived yet so here are some pics of the things that have arrived!

Suggestions for beginner gyaru

Google is your best friend. The amount of times people say they tried on gyaru makeup I wonder if they actually searched up what gyaru makeup was lol (oops I’m sorry I’m mean but IT’S SO TRUE). So please, for the love of Tsu-chan, USE GOOGLE

Never stop experimenting, especially when it comes to makeup and hair!

Use magazine scans and blog photos as reference when it comes to styling coordinates

Don’t be afraid of criticism. We are here to help you so that you can look your best gyaru self! So listen and learn

Also… gyaru is expensive lol. Like. Sure, you can buy things for cheaper but it still requires a bit of money. So save up haha

And that’s all for this gyaru card! This was really fun to do (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡ Thank you Leia for this challenge!

Speak soon xx

Oh btw!! I used to call “Popteen kei” just Sweet Gyaru. It was one of the first terms I heard and I think it describes it well. Sweet Gyaru: Everything girly but not necessarily princess-like but with soft colours/unlike amekaji. Roma Gyaru: The Era of Himekaji when roses, beige/brown colours and laces were most popular, Every roma is himekaji but not every himekaji is roma. Old-school Himekaji: The casual attire of a hime gyaru, often also consisted of simple outfits with jeans etc. Modern Himekaji: Princess attire but in a casual soft way, may also use black/navy/burgundy-colours etc, sailor collar, various prints like alice in wonderland/ballerina etc. Reiwa Himekaji: A lot of inspo from other styles like larme. BUUUTTT: these are only my definitions, not official ones but it helps me like this..

I suppose that makes sense! I still get confused with roma because it just looks like himekaji to me lol so I just class it as himekaji!

OMG I LOVE THIS POST there are sooooooo many cute things to learn about your inspo and gets and achievements!!! I totally want to take this even tho i’m not gyaru! haha. Do you think Leia would mind if I adapt it to a general jfash template to fill out??? with credits ofc! I think I could even learn about myself haha

But enough talking about myself!! OMG love love reading about and seeing your inspirations cause I can totally make that connection to your style <3. Im always trying not to spazz about okarie but I just love how much we both adore her!!!! T_T. I never thought about how young she was when she was Ank Rouge's director!!! (I regret not ordering from her new brand tho.. even if it's not quite my style..hah). But I'm so happy to read about what you love about your other inspirations too! Esp since I remember seeing them in all kinds of inspiration photos and magazine shots but I couldn't get to recognising each one hahaha… Ahhhh such gyaru icons… those fur boot coords are such a classic look!

I love every coord you posted ahhhhh you just look so cute and happy in each one!! T____T. Especially I just love how fluffy and princessy you look in each one even if they have different colour palettes and silhouettes. I'll keep an eye out for your wishlist items when i'm shopping!!!

<3 <3 <3 I loved reading this so much!!! Sorry i think this comment is like super messy and sounds repetitive but i mean every time i say i love it!! hahahha <3

ps. "for the love of tsu-chan" HAHAHHAHAHA
