Liz Lisa 2011 Spring Collection!

Posted on March 1, 2021March 12, 2021

Hey cutie! How are you? I’m back with more Liz Lisa scans (thanks to the lovely Olivia!), and this time we’re flicking through their 2011 Spring collection. Their last Spring collection was one of the most inspiring ones I’ve seen, so I’m really hyped for this! Anyway, let’s have a lookie!

My thoughts on Liz Lisa’s 2011 Spring Collection

In all honesty… I’m not too sure how I feel about the 2011 Spring collection which is a HUGE contrast to how I felt about the 2010 one.

Okay, don’t get me wrong, this collection is gorgeous but I feel like something is missing…? The wild spirit that the gals had in previous years is gone (ESPECIALLY when you compare this to one from 2008). But I am not 100% surprised; if I remember correctly, I think the wild and sexy gyaru trend died down a lot. Nevertheless, I really miss the strong, vibrant colours from the 2008 collections and the wild spirit. The colours have become more and more muted and replaced with florals instead.

But I feel that this is also where himekaji is really coming through as they are definitely veering towards more of the casual princess vibes that the style is known for. A part of me wishes that they still kept their light-medium tans though to retain the gyaru element (like they do in the Chambre a Coucher collection), but if I were to look at this collection with fresh eyes then I’ll definitely point at it and say “yep, this is himekaji”. Liz Lisa really know how to make beautiful silhouettes and gosh, those maxi dresses are to die for.

What do you think of Liz Lisa’s 2011 Spring Collection?

Imagine living in this era and seeing them publish these typa clothes every months instead of days like we do now…It actually made me think of todays fashion…it is not possible to go through a catalogue as a gal and be this excited….or is it just me? Unfortunately “normie” fashion today is so boring. Yesterday I was shopping (seeing human again) and a lot of younger people were around and that’s where it hit me…their clothes…I never felt so far away from reality xD

I feel like if I was looking at this with fresh eyes and in the time it was published, I wouldn’t feel so sad about it. I think it’s because we all know how Liz Lisa would develop that I’m now looking out for the signs of where it drifted away from gyaru and the “original” version of himekaji.
I absolutely LOVE the way you dress! And I agree, I’m not a huge fan of normie fashion, but I do love how comfortable jogging bottoms are (esp when working from home haha).
