Hey cutie! How are you? ♡ I’ve fallen behind with my scan-analysis-posts (or however you want to call it), as my lovely Liv has once again come through with more Liz Lisa scans! Today I’m going to be looking at the 2006 Autumn/Winter collection. Okay, let’s go!

My thoughts…
I love the combination of having a white dress with black tights, which appears quite a lot in this collection. I wish I had seen this during my first years of gyaru because I only really wore thick black tights (as I didn’t know that thick thermal tights were a thing). This combination has been balanced out by having a black bag or one with black accents.
Aside from the colours, the material used is deeeefinitely thick. All too often I see brands do “winter” collections but the fabrics are too thin to actually wear in Winter (esp European winters) so it’s quite refreshing to see thick, heavy fabrics used!
Also… Have you noticed the lack of florals??? There’s not one speck of it! It’s all either one-colour or in winter patterns e.g. plaid. Hmm…
You know… I feel like this collection has very strong hime (princess) vibes. I don’t know if that’s because I’m really into hime gyaru lately so I’m actively seeking those elements out, but the picture with Yui Kanno wearing those lace gloves definitely screams hime. And have you seen those shoes??? If that isn’t hime then I don’t know what is. I can imagine myself wearing stuff from this collection for the more casual hime gyaru days – which, I guess, leads directly to himekaji!

That’s it for this post! I can’t wait to have a look at the other Liz lisa collections which I hope to do soon… Life has been super busy lately so haven’t had the chance to do posts like this in a while.
What did you think of this Liz Lisa 2007 Winter collection? ♡
Thanks again to Liv for uploading these scans! ♡

August 24, 2021I thought that it’s interesting how Liz Lisa went through so many periods. I think the oldest scans I have from Liz Lisa us from 2004 Cawaii mag also winter and the collection was mostly all white too. I vaguely remember western gurls into club culture at the time were also heavily into the all white-a but royal princess elements look. But looking through all Liz Lisa be it catalogues or just old pieces on auctions the focus was heavily on the fabric textures etc. By 2009 the florals pretty much took over and was a defying Liz Lisa style… I’d say by 2014 ? it was the kawaii patterns a la sweet lolita but casual. 2019 onwards they are all in on the Ryosan Gata train. Florals are pretty much out but some how people still think of it when they hear LizLisa. My fave From here is def one of the first pages with the bat sleeve top and check shorts. I could probably still rock that sans the ultra long pointy toe boots. My feet are already long. No need to accentuate that 😅.
