Lockdown Looks

Kind of weird but… I have been dressing up a lot more since lockdown happened. I guess it’s mainly because I’m just sitting around in the house with nothing better to do, and that the weather can’t really dictate what to wear because, erm, I’m not going outside. So I could pretty much wear whatever I wanted without limitations! Here are some of my favourite lockdown looks.

Agejo Baby

Rachel made me do it (tehe). Yep, I know, I’m such a hypocrite seeing as I told myself that I wouldn’t wear agejo again but here I am. I wore this outfit during my instagram live with Rachel, where we did a “get ready with me” and answered all of your questions about agejo gyaru! It gave me a hint of nostalgia and this is still one of my favourite sets.

Check Meowt

I’ve been wearing a lot more crop tops lately and this brown leopard print organza top* was given to me by FemmeLuxe! I immediately fell in love with the silhouette, and paired it with some skinny black jeans to make it look a little bit more sophisticated. Only thing I would say is that I found it a bit tight around my elbows so it’ll take some time for me to get comfortable wearing it, but I loved how the sleeves were slightly see-through. I think this top would also look great with hot pants and a d.i.a belt!

Gyaru, (O)kei?

I’ve been wearing more off-brand items as I try to make do with the clothes that I already had in my wardrobe, but then add a splash of animal print and voila! Gyaru! (Kinda). It was quite nice not to wear any brand clothes, because you don’t need to wear brand items to be gyaru as long as you have the most important aspect (the eye makeup) down. I think this outfit is really cute for a picnic!

Brush it off your shoulders

The white ribbed off-shoulder top* was another item that was given to me by FemmeLuxe, and I think it works really well with onee gyaru styles! I jazzed it up a bit with my iconic chain belt that I got from ASOS as well as my DaTuRa shorts, and I really want to wear this again once lockdown is over (and when it’s warm enough tehe). I’d love to pair it with some white heels!

top: femmeluxe* / shorts: datura / belt: asos* / bag: boohoo / accessories: no idea sorry!

Squeeze the Day!

I featured this outfit in a recent post “do substyles help or hinder us?” and I must say that it’s one of my favourite outfits of the year so far! I had a very light (albeit streaky) tan and never felt so gal. This is definitely perfect for a summer gal meet!

What looks have you been serving this lockdown?

Love,
Lizzie xx

It’s OK if you still have the odd day you feel like being nostalgic and wearing agejo! (it makes me nostalgic as well – reminds me of the Germany meet!)
Also, if I’m ever up your way, we totally should do a rokku get ready with me! 😍 (even though I take soooo much longer than you to cake my face haha)

    You always look so fab!

I have made a real effort to make sure I am dressed every day, It would be so easy to just slob around in my PJ’s while I work from home but I think it makes me more productive.

Some days I even brush my hair!

Awh thank you so much Claire! Yes I agree. I usually stay in my pjs on the weekend but I find that even if I just wore a t-shirt and jeans then I find that I’m more productive.

Adorable. Cute outfits for young women.

  • I’ve been dressing up a lot more too. I usually write about travel, but since we haven’t been traveling… I started a style category on my blog. The white off-shoulder top really looks good on you. I want one!

Some adorable options – I love the leopard print top! Personally, I’ve been finding the balance between style and comfort. Lately, I’ve been rocking my Halloween leggings a lot lately (I have a few different pairs with skulls, skeletons, etc.) because they bring a smile to my face. We all need to focus on one makes us happy during lockdown, right?
