Hydration, Baby! Why this Sheet Mask Works Wonders for Eczema

*ad: this post contains gifted items. Read my disclaimer for more info

My skin has been AWFUL lately. Over the weekend I started to develop a lot of dry/crackling patches, which I’ve been trying to keep at bay with a lot of moisturiser. This is the main reason why I was so eager to try this Missha Mascure Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask (they don’t make the names simple, do they?) as it specialises in those with problem skin (specifically dry skin).

I received this sheet mask as a gift from MaskTime, which was included within the “Glow Setter” subscription box. I have both bought and received masks from MaskTime in the past, and I’m 100% honest when I say that they are my go-to company for buying Korean masks. They are a small business based in the UK which makes it incredibly convenient for me and also provide amazing service! Anyway, onto the mask review…

Missha Mascure Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask

Gimme’ the Lowdown

Hyaluronic Acid – This baby gives back moisture to the skin, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, giving the skin a “plumper” look.

Bergamot Oil – Perfect for those with acne/blemishes because it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Sage Extract – This also helps with giving back moisture to dry skin, as well as helping to prevent acne or flare-ups.

Is it Cruelty Free?

This is tricky because even though Missha said that they don’t test on animals, and all of their Korean products aren’t tested on animals, they do sell some products in China which will have been tested on animals. There wasn’t a “cruelty free” logo on this packaging, so, to be on the safe side, I will assume that it’s not cruelty free.

My Experience

This was the wettest mask I’ve ever put on, but it didn’t drip once! The holes for the eyes were a bit small (something I noticed in a previous Missha mask I tried, which I’ll be reviewing soon!) so I had to be really careful to make sure the moisture didn’t go into my eyes. The mask remained incredibly moist for the whole duration I had it on!

It was hard to tell when to take the mask off (as it usually dries a bit when the skin draws in the moisture) but luckily I had looked at the timestamp on my photos otherwise I would’ve worn it for a lot longer than 20 minutes. My face was still wet after peeling the mask off – how crazy is that?! So I just gently patted the excess moisture into my skin to help it absorb it a bit better.

The next day… I woke up to an amazing sight: my eczema patches had all but gone! There were still some dry flecks above my eyelids but that horrible dry patch under my left eye had completely gone. I was so relieved! My skin remained smoother than a baby’s bottom for the rest of the day and I was so happy. It’s the first time I’ve worn a mask that worked as well as this one did.

Sooo what did I think of Missha Mascure Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask?

Rating: 5/5

This is the best hydrating mask I’ve ever tried, hands down. I would highly recommend it for those who suffer eczema because it cleared up 99% of my dry patches and I didn’t find it irritating at all! I would definitely get this again and save it for days when my skin really, really needs it.

Have you tried this sheet mask before?

Love,
Lizzie xx

That face mask sounds right up my street! Hyaluronic Acid is my absolute jam, I’ll try anything which contains it as I find it really hydrated and plumps my skin. I’ll need to give it a go!

Hi Lizzie!! I have been a huge fan of your blog for the past few months, and recently I’ve found myself torn between two styles or “aesthetics”. I used to always go for a fairy kei style, which I still love dearl, ad incorporate into all aspects of my life- collecting 80’s pastel toys, stuffies, pastel fashion dolls, etc… the music I enjoy was/is mostly denpa and such, but lately I also enjoy agejo styles and have fallen in love with it. However, sometimes I would still like to wear fairy kei, and everything else n my life reflects it. Would it be possible to go for the sexy agejo look sometimes, while still having cutesy interests- and still wear fairy kei from time to time? I get too obsessed over how fashion reflects personality sometimes, and I could really use your advice- I would love to start dressing more agejo sometimes!

I think you should just wear whatever you want and go with the flow! You don’t HAVE to stick to a certain substyle in order to fit in. Make it your own kinda’ thing! I’m really intrigued by what you wear though… Drop me your insta handle and I’ll have a nosy!
