If you want old school gyaru inspo then you’ve come to the right place! I’ve been dying to style this zebra print skirt that I bought from boohoo in a one item five ways post, and was (im)patiently waiting for when I’ve had enough pictures to create this post (as it looks like you prefer worn-on photos as opposed to flatlays which I’m all here for). I’ve put outfits for different seasons – from chilly winters to blazin’ summers – to show that this zebra print skirt is truly versatile. So versatile that I’m breaking my rules and have created six, not five, outfits. Let’s get started!
Before we go on… I decided not to link where I bought any of my items as there wasn’t really any point as most things I wear are at least 2+ years old. The only thing that’s recent is the zebra print skirt which I bought from boohoo! So these outfits are just here to give you that lil’ boost of inspiration you need.
Old school gyaru queen
This is the ultimate old school gyaru outfit – can you imagine this outfit with a dark tan? Hell yes! Unfortunately I am a pale vampire that just managed to get out into the sun without burning to a crisp. I absolutely love combining anything with pink so this ticked off all of the boxes for me.
Super casual gyaru kei
Perfect for those summer days where it’s too hot to wear layers, and for when you got to do lots of walking. You can easily upgrade this by swapping out trainers for some heeled wedges but alas, I don’t have any (boo). I wore this when we were trekking through the Eden project in the sweltering heat.
Cosy up
This was one of my favourite outfits in winter. If you’re into more of the ‘cool’ gyaru styles like tsuyome you can throw in a dia belt with legwarmers and wedge heels.
Barbie gal
I can’t get enough of this barbie sweater, and knew that I’d had to pair it with this zebra print skirt to create the ultimate barbie gal coord. For this I wore just a simple black choker and zebra print earrings. I wore this when I went to kitty cafe with my bby Chewiee!
Classy Onee
I wore this when I went out to celebrate Amy’s birthday, and I felt so classy (something I haven’t felt in a very, very long time!) This top was one of the first ‘brand’ items that my boyfriend, now husband, bought for me when we were first dating and I still cherish it to this day. Who knew that zebra print would look so classy!
Wild at Heart
This outfit is way out of my comfort zone but I absolutely love it. It is comfy but sexy at the same time, and the perfect coord for those hot summer days that you want to spend out at a festival!
Which one’s your favourite outfit? How would you style a zebra print skirt?
Love,
Lizzie xx
