Review: Lush Snow Fairy’s Castle Gift Box

Snow fairy, lush review, christmas gift

Hello and welcome to my first beauty blog post of the year! One of my resolutions was to start beauty blogging {read here}, and I’ve been doing a bit of research on Twitter for inspirational bloggers and with each blog I found I started to get more and more excited about it! I’ve always loved beauty blogging, so I’m amazed why I hadn’t started doing it sooner…

Today’s beauty blog post is about this gorgeous Lush gift box that I got from my sister for Christmas! Yes, I know Christmas is a lifetime ago but life has been pretty hectic so I wanted to save unboxing this, and now’s the time to do it! The one she got for me was Snow Fairy’s Castle and oh my gosh it was amazing. I can’t get enough of it’s sugary sweet scent!

Inside was Snow Fairy Shower Gel, Fairy Dust Dusting Powder, Magic Wand Bubble Bar and Sowhite Bath Bomb!

When I saw this I couldn’t help but squeal a little bit – I felt like
such a fairy! I almost didn’t want to use it because it was so pretty
but luckily you can reuse it by simply dabbing it with a towel/tissue. Judging by how little I used it the first time round, I can say this will probably last 5 – 6 times.

I first tried out just swirling the wand around in the water as if I was casting magic spells before holding it under the tap, and whoosh my bath turned sparkly pink! It was a subtle sparkle so great for people like me with uber sensitive skin, and smelt like bubblegum.

For the first time ever I was extremely disappointed in a Lush product. It smells great and did turn my
bath pink in the end, but I was hoping there would be more colours like
their other bath bombs. I actually sat by the bathtub for ages before giving up with the realisation that nothing spectacular was going to happen. Oh well!

I actually bought one of these babies before and was close to running out until I opened my present, so it was really good timing! It’s one of the best shower gels I’ve ever had from Lush and it smells like candy floss! I kind of wished I bought more of this, but I guess that gives me an excuse to buy other Lush products. I sometimes use it as a bubble bath and it works wonders – it doesn’t look exciting, but it just smells divine and makes me feel good!

Fairy Dust Dusting Powder

Like with the Magic Wand, I’ve never used dusting powder before so I was quite intrigued at the results. I followed their little guide and patted it lightly on my skin before washing off, and it had quite a smooth texture. The powder came out pink but was clear when I rubbed it into my skin, although I noticed that there was a slight sparkle. I also tried it out by sprinkling into my bath, but it ended up just making the bath water powdery – sparkly, but powdery. Definitely not something to use if you want a bubble bath, as expected.

All in all I’m very happy with the gift box, and was only really disappointed in the So White Bath Bomb. The best thing was that everything smelt of candy and I LOVE candy! Lush is such a good choice of gift, and I was so happy to get it as a Christmas present. What I love most about Lush is that they are cruelty free and everything is natural, so yay to no chemicals!

That’s all for today everyone! What’s your favourite Lush product?
