Beary Cute Rilakkuma Inspired Outfit

Gosh, I wish I was like Rilakkuma – spending the whole day napping their worries away, especially now that it’s getting a lot colder! It seems as if Summer has leaped straight into Winter as we are thrown into really cold temperatures. But colder weather means cosier outfits, and here’s one of my latest which is inspired by the cute and lazy bear, Rilakkuma!

But… Who exactly is Rilakkuma?

Rilakkuma is a character created by a Japanese company called San-X, and their name is made up of the characters meaning “relax” and “bear”. I just love how it breaks the stereotype of being cute and energetic as Rilakkuma spends their whole day relaxing (which I definitely wish I related to – all I want to do is sleep all day tehe!)

About the Rilakkuma inspired outfit

It’s been feeling more and more like Autumn and I realise that I didn’t really have many Autumn colours in my wardrobe apart from this tan/cream sweater. I usually just wear it with a pair of black jeans but this time I thought – why not make a cute outfit instead? That, combined with a black dungaree dress, very much reminded me of Rilakkuma which is why I decided to do an outfit inspired by them!

One thing I was worried about was the cold, so I wore two pairs of tights, a pair of socks and over the knee boots. Who says you can’t do gyaru in Winter! (Which reminds me – I have a whole guide on how to do gyaru in Winter if you’re interested). I decided to skip wearing a hat because I wanted to do a hairstyle inspired by their cute lil’ bear ears and voila! My Rilakkuma inspired outfit was complete.

I absolutely loved creating this outfit because it was such a subtle hint to one of my favourite characters, and kept me warm on a crisp Autumn day. I can’t wait to do more like this!

Which character should I try next?
