Shining Bright: Lashine False Lashes Review!

ad – contains gifted items. Read my disclaimer for more info

Lashes are a huge part of the gyaru makeup, although sadly they are harder to get your hands on nowadays (well, ones that are dramatic for our gyaru looks in any case!). I’ve been trying my best to experiment with non-branded ones, so I was really intrigued by what they had at Lashine and decided to give them a go. So here’s my review on the false lashes I received!

Gyaru False Lashes + Where to Buy Them

Aah, false lashes. What on earth would us gyaru do without them? I remember when I first started this Japanese fashion and I was trawling through Boots to find the cheapest lashes… But back then they were hard to find. Nowadays it’s so easy to find ‘normal’ false lashes that we no longer have to fork out an extortionate amount on shipping etc for just a pack.

But quite a lot of good ol’ gyaru lash brands have died. The shops I used to buy them from no longer exist (RIP Ichibankao and Japan Gift Bay). But no fear! I had a perusal and bought from a few shops, and below are the ones I would recommend.

My Top 5 Gyaru Lashes!

You know that moment when you’re supposed to be tidying up but instead get distracted by everything you find? Well, I stumbled upon a whole pack of gyaru lashes that I had long forgotten about which led me to gathering every pack that I had left and putting them all on one pile. It was a huge pile, but despite all of the lashes I have I only use about 5 of them on a regular basis, and thus I was hit with the sudden inspiration to show you all my top 5 favourites!

Kawaii Deluxe Review: Ageha Princess Eyes False Lashes

Hey everyone! How’re you?
I can’t believe it’s the second week of February! I’m still thinking that it’s January… It’s crazy! However this means that it’s getting closer and closer to spring which means I will finally be able to wear pretty clothes *_*

I’ve been doing a lot of “sweet” looks recently so when Kawaii Deluxe told me to take my pick from their store, I chose these babies – Ageha Princess Eye! I’ve got tons of dramatic lashes so I wanted to try out something more natural!

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, these thoughts are 100% my own!

The lashes arrived in no more than a week~ this was such a surprise as I was thinking that it would take a lot longer than that. Kawaii Deluxe were definitely ticking boxes so far!
Everything was nicely wrapped and they had even left a note and some sample BB cream. They’re so cute!

Now time for the lashes. After taking a closer look at them I realised that they were a lot less dramatic than I thought. I haven’t actually tried out this style before where the lashes were more clumped together at the ends, so I was bursting to try them on!

I went for a casual look, and in the end I had to ditch my lower lashes because… Well, you’ll see in the photos.

They were natural, yes, but a bit too natural. Like I said I didn’t need to wear any bottom lashes with these as it wouldn’t balance, so I just added more mascara.
Now them being a bit too natural would be a downfall in normal circumstances but for me, who wanted natural ones, they were perfect. I could get away with wearing these in an office as it was a very subtle effect… But for gyaru? No, these are too natural (unless you were heading down the Popteen route where they’re toning down a lot).

Thinking about offices gave me the idea to try these on with my glasses and viola! They were perfect! I had used a lash curler to make them stand upright a bit more and they barely brushed against my glasses. So for those who want to do the natural look and wear glasses, these lashes are perfect for you!

Now it’s time for the ratings!

Postage & Packaging

Absolutely perfect. Everything was carefully wrapped, and the little note was super cute! Got to give them extra points for shipping everything out really quickly as well.

Customer service

Amazing! Responded to my emails within 24 hours – nice!

Appearance of Lashes

I quite like this style of having the lashes more compact at the ends as it’s perfect for the cat eye effect.

Dramatic-ness

I’m still not too sure about these lashes because they are a bit too natural for me, so it’s a low rating from me. You can barely see them on but I guess this means it’ll be good for school/work.

Usability ♡

Very easy to use! Great for everyday wear, too, so bonus points for that!

Overall (For Lashes)
Overall I probably wouldn’t recommend these lashes for those interested in gyaru, but for general “kawaii” style these are great for those who are still at school! The teachers wouldn’t even notice them tehe. It was partly my fault that the lashes have an overall low rating – next time I’ll stick to my dramatic lashes!

Overall (Service)

However I would definitely recommend buying from Kawaii Deluxe; they were incredibly friendly and responded to my emails within the day, and the package didn’t take long to arrive at all! This bumped up the rating a little bit, because like I said I was the one who chose the lashes, and they have an amazing range at their store!

Shop at Kawaii Deluxe!

Until next time my cuties~

Review: Luminous Change Lower Lashes

Remember a few posts back when I went to MCM Expo in London? Well I purchased a set of lashes from the lovely Tania of Pixie Bunny that I had been eying up for a while and promised that I’d do a review for her so… Here it is!

Before I go onto the review I would like to give you a little introduction of Pixie Bunny. As I have already said, it’s owned by the lovely Tania (who has a blog here) and she sells a variety of products such as tights, bags, makeup, jewellery and – wait for it – false lashes!

Me & Tania at MCM Expo!

Anyway, the lashes I purchased were Luminous Change Lower Lashes. I’ve been searching for some lashes that were a cross between Princess Eye and Baby Eye (both by Diamond Lash) so when I clapped my eyes onto these babies I knew I had to get them.

Now I can’t really judge on how well her postage was (i.e. how everything was kept in a box etc etc) as I had bought them from her stall, but she did pop it into a really cute pink bag alongside a sticker! So I guess I can give her a booming 5 stars because she didn’t just stick it any old paper bag.

So, packaging

Okay so now it’s actually talking about how they felt when I wore them. When I peeled them off from the container I realised that they were actually longer than they first appeared, which is definitely a good thing because I was worried that these lashes would just disappear on camera. So I put them on and-

Well, all I can say is, do not underestimate their length.

They were perfect length and design-wise! I fell in love and was literally babbling away to Tania on Facebook on how much I loved them. Another reason to show just how good they were was that today was supposed to be an extremely lazy day in a hoody, but… I dolled up! And it was all down to the lashes!

Later on I did realise that they kinda’ went upwards, if that makes sense? I think this is a both good and bad thing; good because it means they don’t look too dramatic, but bad because they might not look dramatic enough for heavy makeup. Won’t know until you try though I guess!

Appearance

Usability wise… They are pretty easy to use! The only thing I could say is that the lash line is quite thin but it doesn’t look as fragile as Princess Eye by Diamond Lash… However, I’d still be extra careful with them when taking them off just in case.
Because of the thin, transparent lash line I found them really easy to adjust so that they curved nicely beneath my lower (natural) lash line.

Usability

Overall

I will give them an overall mark of 5 stars because they are one of the most beautiful lower lashes I’ve ever seen, coming up close behind (ooer) Baby Eye by Diamond Lash, and you know how much I love those lashes…

I guess that’s all for now! Now why not be a good ol’ chap and hop over to Pixie Bunny to purchase these gorgeous babies for yourself ;D

Will most likely make a post of my make and outfit etc next week ^^ Ta ta for now~
