Lunchbox 🎵

Posted on

Hey cutie, how are you? I guess this is what you can call a “what’s in my lunchbox” post haha but I’m trying to put more effort into the things I eat during the day because if you eat cute things then your day is proven to be 10000% better

We’ll see how long this lasts but this is what I’ve got!

Have Yourself a Cosy Little Christmas

Aah, Christmas. I feel like I can finally get ready for it now that the Halloween hype is safely out the way without a twinge of guilt. Because there’s one thing that Halloween hasn’t yet managed to trump over Christmas – and that is the copious amount of food.

My “Christmas” began with a mouthful of smoked salmon blinis à la Cosy Club in Coventry*, where I sat with a Bucks Fizz in my hand and a purple Christmas hat on my head. Soon I ate another and before you know it, a whole sharing platter was consumed (not just by myself, though, as my hubby and my friend Gem were there too). I didn’t know what a blinis (or is it blini?) was until I got there but they’re basically a small bite of goodness that you could just pop straight in your mouth. Much like the rest of their sharing platter, to be honest, although I steered clear of the mushroom pâté.

The Starters

So I hinted above that there were quite a few things on their sharing platter and I wasn’t lying – there was plenty to line your stomach before the mains! There was the mushroom pâté, pigs in blankets, bread to dip into the camembert cheese, the smoked salmon blinis, and some gorgeous pork belly. It was delicious!

The Mains

Our waiter, Lubos, then came around with a cheery smile and our mains were placed right in front of us. I had the Halloumi & Winter Vegetable Wellington whilst my hubby had the Pan-fried Fillet of Sea Bass. I almost melted after taking the first bite because holy hell it was good. Like holy-sh*t-get-in-my-mouth kind of good. It took me a while to figure out that the halloumi was melted right underneath the ‘roof’ of the wellington-pie-thing, and it wasn’t until my food had gone slightly cold that the halloumi hardened into cheesy chunks. After a while it did get a bit too cheesy, so luckily there were plenty of vegetables and mashed potatoes to eat instead.

While I was busy trying to figure out how on earth I was going to finish it all, my hubby had polished his meal. There wasn’t a single bone in his sea bass! I had a little taste of it too and even for someone who doesn’t like fish, it was actually quite tasty.

The Desserts

After I resigned to the fact that I wasn’t going to finish my meal, another waiter (who had a marvellous collection of Harry Potter tattoos on his arms) served us our desserts. You know that saying, “there’s always room for dessert”? Well there really is because even though I was bursting with halloumi I still managed to eat my Limoncella Cheesecake (whilst eyeing up my hubby’s Chocolate Brownie & Cide Toffee Trifle). It was strange, though, as the top was kinda’ frothy like whipped cream and had pieces of crushed meringe in it. But it was amazing. My hubby really enjoyed his trifle and said – and I quote – that it was “f*cking nice”.

So, the Christmas menu at Cosy Club; was I disappointed? Nope! Was I very full afterwards? Yep! I was so stuffed that you could’ve rolled me out of the restaurant. It was so worth it, and my mouth is watering at the thought of the limoncella cheesecake I had.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions, just ask. And if your mouth is also watering after reading this, then book yourself a Cosy little Christmas so that you can experience the delicious food at Cosy Club yourself.

Love,
Lizzie xx

*The food was sponsored but holy hell it was glorious. That may sound like an exaggeration, but I don’t wanna lie to you babes. I speak nothing but the truth on this blog!

Down the Rabbit Hole: Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea at Kona

afternoon tea, alice in wonderland, food review, blogger

“Cup of tea, anyone?” is perhaps one of the most stereotypically British things we say and I felt oh-so-stereotypical when I found myself on the train to London for afternoon tea with my gal pals Chewiee and Maz. It wasn’t just any afternoon tea, though, but Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea. How amazing is that?! This was one at Kona at the Taj hotel, and it was by far one of the best afternoon teas I’ve ever had.

All Loved Up

I had such a good start to this month! I was very selfish and had my boyfriend all to my self. It’s been ages since I last saw him – over a month! – so I always try to spend as much time with him as possible whenever I see him.

He arrived at mine on Friday and we treated ourselves by going to a new Chinese restaurant, and when I say ‘new’ it just means that it wasn’t Wagamama. We go there way too much so needed something refreshing! Chinese restaurants are also nice anyway. I wanted to be all dolled up and pretty so I wore my lashes! I was a bit sceptical at first because even though they’ve been okay so far I was just worried about being let down and getting a busted eye again. I even curled my hair, which I haven’t done in what seems like ages.

We ordered this set meal kind of deal where you just get loads and loads of little dishes served in three sections, and boy was there a lot of food! Here are some photos I took really quickly (as we were starving) so please excuse me if they’re blurry.

To be honest the food wasn’t that great but I was so hungry I didn’t care. It was for a really good price as well so I can’t really complain but I don’t think I’ll get this ‘feast’ again. I don’t know, I guess I’m just really picky when it comes to meat but the duck pancakes were to die for.

Me and my honey <3 Wow, my front camera is shocking!

Then on Sunday we went for a bit of Xmas shopping in London! I managed to doll up on that day as well as my eye was fine after our dinner, plus who doesn’t want to look pretty when going shopping? Hopefully this is a sign that this lash adhesive is okay for my uber-sensitive eyes! I went for the agejo look again because I love that style so much. Slowly fulfilling my dreams of being a MA*RS gal…

We went to the Stratford Westfield because it’s the only place I know that has a decent amount of shops without me having to trek all the way across London. It was absolutely perfect and I managed to get a couple of bits and bobs but restrained from getting anything for myself (December is a really bad month for me, money-wise… all of those presents that need buying!) It was actually pretty tiring after a while so we grabbed some tea and chilled out for a bit.

Little things like this make my day 😀

Afterwards was our double date with Pixie Late and Alex! They are amazing people and I really enjoy spending time with them. We get along so well and can talk about almost anything so it was really nice seeing them so soon after Expo (‘soon’ as in around a month’s time hahaha). It’s nice that my honey was able to talk to them too because we all share the same interests which is great 😀

Me & Pixie Late! <3

And that was it! Now that I look back it doesn’t really sound as if I’ve done a lot that weekend but trust me, shopping and eating did take up most of our time. Did I mention that my honey and I were right ol’ pigs and ate lots of chocolate and ice cream as we watched The Mummy? Well, I guess I have now!

Meeting up with Charli!

My eyes are actually burning as I write this, and it’s only 21:53 (well, now it’s 19:04, as I write up my blog and then publish it a couple of days later).

There’s just so much going on in my personal life that it’s affecting me both mentally and physically; for the past few days I’ve been a walking zombie, and I swear that whenever someone is talking to me I just faze out so that they have to repeat everything that they say all over again. It’s such a horrible feeling, but I just can’t seem to think nor sleep well.

But enough of this depressing, personal stuff! I’m here to blog, and that is what I shall do for my beautiful readers.

After MCM Expo I arranged to meet my darling Charli again because I just missed hanging out with her so much! We’re going to arrange to go Xmas shopping together in London sometime and just blow out all of our savings… It’s going to be so good! I really can’t wait.

My look of the day!

We first had to take our usual purikura, and I swear I have taken more puri with her than I have with my boyfriend (sorry ;_; <3). It was funny because we were so unprepared for the first set, and so we just had to take another! I have so much fun when taking puri, and we both agreed to meet up around once every 3 months. Hopefully that’ll give me a reason to start saving so that I could spend it whenever we see each other.

Tom Hiddleston was on the puri machine!
Our first attempt which was a bit of a fail!

After that she took me to this little Korean place (which is in fact called Little Korea, tehe). At first I wasn’t sure what the food will be like as I ordered dumpling soup, gyoza and tofu, but it was delicious. Honestly, it makes me want to eat Asian food more often. I miss eating Chinese food everyday ;_;

That was all the time I had for my lovely Charli, but we both agreed that the next time we meet we’ll go with no makeup and get up early to see each other~ This shall be challenging for me 😛

This was my look and makeup for today:

Until next time, beautiful people <3
