Hey cutie, how are you? ( ´ ∀ `)ノ~ ♡ Today I did jirai kei makeup as a little “trial” before Amy’s birthday party. It feels so weird to wear this much makeup without any lashes which I hated at first but tbh… It’s really growing on me (♡°▽°♡) I feel really cute!
It’s my bby Amy’s birthday party coming up so I want to take this chance to do Jirai Kei properly, which is why I decided to do an inspiration post which I can use as reference for when I do the makeup/hair/overall look. To be honest, I’m really excited… Don’t get me wrong; I love gyaru with my heart and soul but I also want to try something different every now and then.
This Jfashion wiki explains it in a lot more detail but Jirai roughly translates to “landmine-type” which derives from “jirai onna”, a derogatory term to describe girls that look as if they have an emotional breakdown at any moment. It’s really not a nice phrase, but these girls took it and turned it onto its head and it evolved into the jfashion that we know of today (a darker girly style).
