Childlike Wonder and Adult Responsibilities

Snowy himekaji outfit

One Sunday morning the UK woke up to a world of snow. It had been so long since I’ve seen snow that when I looked outside I was taken over by a childish wonder. No one had stepped out of their warm houses yet but I could sense the excitement building from the way that people were talking about it on social media that I couldn’t help but feel equally giddy to be out in the snow. It didn’t take much encouragement to decide that I wanted to be stereotypical and dress up so that we could take some outfit photos before it all melts away. About an hour later I was ready and feeling pretty, fully layered up in my Liz Lisa coat.

And for a moment, I forgot all of my troubles, and stepped out into the snow.

Summertime Dreaming

I got this Liz Lisa dress from Kawaii Gyaru Shop* late last year as a little ‘welcome’ gift to when summer finally comes around. I waited for what seemed like ages, and the weather slowly began to pick up but it still wasn’t warm enough until finally we hit the end of May and it was time to wear it. It was Sod’s Law that I began to notice things that I would’ve changed in this outfit; like the fact I had a hair bobble on my wrist instead of pearl bracelets, and that this outfit would probably look super cute with a boat hat and with my hair in plaits instead of waves. I think it’s generally the life of a fashion blogger to notice these things, but at least I’ll be more prepared when I wear this again in future!

Cuteness Overload: Agejo & Himekaji Summer Wishlist!

Lately I’ve been trying to sprinkle a bit of cuteness into my everyday life – I rotate phone cases every so often and my colleagues at work always comment on them saying how cute they are which makes me really happy! My next step is to start wearing false nails or make my natural ones look pretty, so I’ve been looking around on the internet and found these Sailor Moon nails by LhouraiisShop which led me to make a cute wishlist for the summer.

Round & Round like a Horse on a Carousel…

It’s amazing how your clothes can affect your mental and physical state; as soon as I put on a cute dress I suddenly feel very positive and princess-y, and that’s exactly how I felt when I put on my new Liz Lisa dress from Kawaii Gyaru Shop*. Gosh I can’t tell you how in awe I am of it – I mean, look at that print! Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful it is.

All of my Liz Lisa is beautiful but this one has by far topped it. Sorry, my other Liz Lisa clothes, but it looks like I’m going to try and wear this as many times as I can. Luckily it’s been getting so hot in the UK so hopefully that will happen!

One of my best friend’s, Amy, was having a birthday tea party and I just couldn’t resist wearing this dress. I mean come on, a tea party, you can’t get anymore princess-y than that. I kept my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t rain and luckily it didn’t, and I had such a great day. We drank tea, ate scones with jam and cream, and took lots of photos! I actually prefer these kind of gatherings to the partying type – I just get so exhausted with all that drinking that I’ll only last an hour at a nightclub. Oops.

It feels like ages since I had the chance to relax. Life has been hectic lately and I can feel myself running into exhaustion because I just can’t stop working. Even outside of work I find myself drawing for my 100 day project and I’m worried that I’ll get ill again from overworking. I’m stuck in that mindset that if I don’t do work than I’m wasting my time. It really sucks but I’m trying to relax by taking bubble baths and the like, but it’s not working…

Hopefully I can find a method soon! Does anyone have anything they could recommend?

Until next Sunday ♡

Kawaii Gyaru Shop Review: Lace & Ribbons

liz lisa, himekaji, winter

I can finally say that I’m now a himekaji gyaru. It sounds weird saying it like that – himekaji gyaru, it doesn’t really flow well but then again just saying “himekaji” sounds weird too. Like himekaji what, exactly? Oh well what I want to say is that I’ve finally accepted that himekaji might just be the style I’m looking for. It’s perfect for going out with friends and even for work which is all I seem to do these days!

But himekaji is still quite difficult for me in winter, so Stephanie suggested I try out this gorgeous red knit! I was going to go ahead with that when my eyes clapped on this equally gorgeous blouse. A couple of weeks later they arrived on my doorstep (you probably recognise these babies in my haul post). I swear it feels like Christmas every time I open a package – especially when I know there’s Liz Lisa inside. I couldn’t wait to wear everything!

First Impressions
Everything was packed neatly and she had even thrown in a pair of over-the-knee socks (pictured in my haul post) as well as a My Melody plushie which was really nice of her! The sweater was quite bulky but oh so soft, and the lace top that came with it was pretty. I was a bit worried as I’m not really into wearing lace without something underneath as my skin could get a bit irritated by it, so I made note of it for when I do wear it.
The blouse was beautiful but looked quite short – the lace part goes down to my waist where it is then just a layer of chiffon, so it might not be suitable to wear right now. It looks easy to wear though as it’s quite stretchy and very soft – I could probably bundle this up and it wouldn’t ruin it.

01 | The Red Knit

Oh my gosh it was SO WARM. It was perfect because it’s been quite cold over here in England and all I needed to wear was the lace vest that came with it underneath and I was fine. Normally my skin would get irritated if I don’t wear long sleeves but this one was okay – the knit was surprisingly soft. I just love the lace and ribbon details on the side and did I mention that it came with a lace vest? (We’re pretty much getting two items for one…) I’ve worn this a few times since Valentine’s day and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s battling those cold winter seasons. They also come in different colours which is amazing!

02 | The Floral Blouse
It took me a while to actually wear this blouse because it’s not really the right weather for it, so I waited until I went shopping with my friend Lee and I was right – it is still a bit too cold to wear it so I paired it with my white fluffy hoodie. My stomach kept getting cold because of the thinner material, so this blouse is definitely for those warm winter days. The sleeves also come up a bit short but not too short that I felt stupid which I think was helped by the fact that they were in the thinner material. Thank goodness for the elasticated cuffs! Nevertheless it is super cute. I just love the peter pan collar and the floral details on the blouse.

That’s all for now cuties! I hope you liked this post and that it fed your Liz Lisa-needs haha. Don’t forget to check out Kawaii Gyaru Shop for more awesome Liz Lisa (and many more brands!) and use my code LIZBEE if anything takes your fancy. Go on, treat yo’self.
