Sponsored Review: JOJO Eye Shadow No. J08-01

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, the thoughts and opinions stated are 100% my own.

Sorry for the late post guys! Had such a crazy morning; I woke up with a nice insect bite on my leg, had to doll up, do all of the food shopping, and then do some vacuuming. Such fun things to do on an extremely humid day…

But enough of the complaining, today I shall be reviewing an eyeshadow palette given to me by KKCenterHK. This is a bit overdue as I received the item two weeks ago, but haven’t been able to use it until today.

I’ll skip the postage and packaging because they are always amazing at it, plus I’ve reviewed some of their products which you can view here. So let’s get onto the actual product, shall we?

The product in question is JOJO Eye Shadow No. J08-01 (bit of a mouthful, isn’t it?).

Let’s see what each shade looks like on the skin:

Now it looks like a black/grey/white palette on the website, but as you can see in the photos there is a slight purple hue to one of the darker colours.  Having a base makes the eye shadow a lot easier to see so I would definitely recommend wearing either foundation, BB Cream or a primer before you put on this eyeshadow.
Yet with a base the two lightest colours still aren’t that visible against the skin, so I decided to wear it to investigate further!

I first put a layer of the silver eyeshadow, hoping it to blend nicely with my base colour – which will be the purple one – so that it’ll look like a glittery purple. Then I added the black to the corner of my eyes and onto my lower lash line, blending it with the other colours. Then I dotted some of the white on the inner corner or my eye and below my brows.

I was a bit disappointed that the white didn’t show up much on the skin, but the other colours worked perfectly. I decided to put on some lashes to see how well the eyeshadow would show with that and some eyeliner.

This eyeshadow is actually perfect for the dramatic look now that I have my lashes on! Therefore:

Appearance

I am unfortunately going to give it only three stars because although the dark colours worked really well, I was quite disappointed that the white one didn’t seem to show up very well on my skin, and the silver… Well, only the glitter was left behind.

Usability (how easy it was to apply)

It was really easy to apply but I had to use several layers of the lighter colours in order for it to show on the skin.

Overall

This palette wasn’t as good as I expected, but then again the purple and the black eyeshadow worked extremely well together! I would love to try out the silver again but maybe without the purple, just to see how well it’ll work for a dark and dramatic look.

Sponsored Review: Chan Mei Eyelashes

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, the thoughts and opinions stated are 100% my own.

Managed to find some spare time to quickly right up my post so that it’s all ready to be published on Sunday.
That’s the beauty of scheduled posts; I can write it at any time that I have spare and I don’t need to actually publish it until later, which gives me plenty of time to review it and make sure that there aren’t any silly mistakes or missing photos. Pretty neat, huh?

Anyway today is on a lash review sponsored by the lovely KKCentreHK!

Let’s do the packaging and postage rating first:

Yes, they get full stars for this. KKCentreHK are extremely reliable and they always package things really well as nothing I receive from them ever gets damaged! So amazing.

And voila, here are the lashes. These beauties are called Chan Mei and are part of the M-Series.  They have a really strong structure which has good and bad points; good, because it means that you’ll definitely be able to wear it once, but bad because it’s very hard to bend it go with your eye shape. Took me quite a few times of bending it before I finally managed to get it right.

Usability:

And wow I was taken by surprise at how dramatic they are! I mean, I knew they were dramatic but not that dramatic. Just goes to show that it isn’t only Japanese brand lashes that would go well with gal.

So that’s a definite full stars for appearance!

Here is what these babies look like from the front (cut off the rest of my face because it wasn’t looking that great ahahaha).

Overall:

I love love love these lashes. The only downside is how rigid they are so it’s a bit annoying to put on, but they are totally worth it!

Sponsored Review: After-Bright Long Luxuriant Eyelashes

Please note that although this is a sponsored review, the thoughts and opinions stated are 100% my own.

I’ve been sponsored again by the company KKCenterHK for this product (After-Bright Long Luxuriant Eyelashes) which contained ten pairs of these wonderful lashes.

Because I have reviewed them before (click here to see that post) I shall skip the communication and packaging part as they are the same; their communication was wonderful and the lashes were sent to me almost immediately in a short amount of time. I am very impressed by their service!

One thing I must say is that their packaging was definitely better than last time as the box was much stronger and didn’t have any creases or bends in it so that the lashes remained perfect.

Appearance

This is what they wrote about the lashes:

Luxuriant Front Short – Long tail Design

Inner Part Of The Eyelash  :Around 0.6 cm

Middle Part Of The Eyelash :Around 1.5 cm

Outer Part Of The Eyelash : Around 0.6 cm

Materials : nylons artificial fibers

100% Handmade and Authentic

As you can see they’re very informative about their products, and very accurate! I found that I could get away with wearing these lashes without lowers which is strange as I never wore my uppers without lowers since… Well, a long time ago.

The stem was pretty thick this time and maintained it’s curved shape. I found this to be interesting because lashes normally do lose their shape so it was harder to put on then usual as it didn’t allow me to bend it even further. I am however impressed by how strong it is! I could definitely wear these over and over.

Usability

I can see myself wearing these lashes for normal day-to-day use like for when I go to uni without having to worry about breaking them. Woop woop!

Overall

I’m going to give them five stars overall because I loved the design and their communication was top notch. The only little downside is that I can’t really bend it a lot but seeing as it’s already bent to fit the eye shape I’m not going to complain that much!
