I’ve been to Japan and haven’t bought a thing… Said no one ever! And trust me, I am still on the road to financial recovery despite it being over a month since I’ve been in the magical land of Hello Kitty and matcha KitKat. It was so worth it, though, but when I look back at my Japan haul I wish I had bought more, but it was physically impossible to fit any more into my suitcase. My suitcase weighed 17kg before and then 23kg after. Oops. I’ve made the decision, however, to buy more things over from Japan. It might not be good economically but their clothes are just so much nicer and I want to keep supporting my gyaru brands from afar!
In the meantime, though, let’s delve into my Japan haul a.k.a the part where I sold my soul.
Donki
The very first part of my Japan haul was when I splurged on was some Hello Kitty and Sanrio goodies from Don Quiote (also known as Donki). I was just so happy to be surrounded by so many kawaii goodies so I didn’t hold back! I also bought some amazing 2-in-1 curlers and straighteners, and I’m pretty upset that I couldn’t fit it into my suitcase. Oh well, maybe next time.
“Shop ’til you drop” was a bit of an understatement for me yesterday when I met up with the two lovely bloggers Fii and Han. I’ve never done so much shopping in my life and did I feel guilty? Not one bit! The cheapest kind of therapy is retail therapy, and I revelled in it (although I should probably stop using that excuse now…)
It was the perfect day for shopping – it was pouring it down with rain. Normally I hate the rain but there’s nothing better than staying indoors for the whole day drooling over beautiful clothes when it’s raining outside. When I last went shopping for that gal meet I was sweating all of my makeup off (not pretty) and I felt all horrible and sticky (even worse) so yep, rain was good! Luckily it didn’t ruin our outfits – I was decked in my Liz Lisa top & jeans from Kawaii Gyaru Shop*, Han in her Liz Lisa dress, and Fii in her kfashion attire.
I’m so happy that spring is finally here – I haven’t felt so energetic in ages! It’s weird how much a little bit of sunlight could affect my everyday life. Only downside is that my hayfever is slowly creeping forwards, and my eyes have been super itchy for the past week.
I’ve got so many plans for this spring and I can’t wait to get them done and dusted! I celebrated the coming of spring by doing a little retail therapy with my friends Amy & Lulu. It’s been ages since I went and I couldn’t wait to see all of the spring collections. It was the first time I dug out some of my spring wear – yay for warmer weather!
I went on an online shopping spree a few weeks ago and yesterday the last item arrived so I can finally show you all what I bought! I know what you’re thinking, “oh Lizzie is buying stuff AGAIN”, but I’ve got a very good excuse this time and that is that everything was from eBay!
Well, sorta’.
I’ve just been so fed up of spending so much money on gyaru brand that I’ve taken a step back and refused to buy anything unless it was dirt cheap or secondhand from a friend. I’m going cold turkey and be a budget gyaru! I feel so much better about it and now I can spend more money on seeing my friends.
And now presenting, my recent gyaru buys!
Sticking with the pastel-coloured theme, I bought this baby pink crop
top & aqua blouse because I think they would work really well with
my white Liz Lisa shorts & the new shoes! Obviously it would be too early in the year to wear the aqua one, but I think it’ll look really nice with a white blazer for the office. I love it when I can wear one item for lots of different styles!
The tights were supposed to be “white” but they came out cream… But I guess it’ll still be okay with my shorts and pastel coords.
The sunglasses & daisy hair clips are for when I want to go for a cute, summery look, and I could wear them with my Liz Lisa stuff too 😀 Or even for the Swankiss-style coords! Who knows! They were too cute not to buy.
These shoes are probably one of the most beautiful ones I’ve owned. I’ve been looking for ones similar to these for a really long time and with the help of my cutie Melissa, I managed to find them! I was careful this time and asked the seller for measurements before buying them, and they fit perfectly. I can’t wait to put an outfit together with these babies.
I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to phone cases and I couldn’t help myself when I saw this one. It’s just so so cute! I’m not too sure about the “hello coolway” bit though… It’s obviously a replica, but it’s still cute!
I bought this phone charm from my bby Charli who owns Honey LY. It’s so adorable! I’ve been falling in love with Little Twin Stars more, especially because blue, pink & white are my favourite colours. It’s a shame that I won’t be able to use it with my new phone case as it hasn’t got a place to hang it off ;_; But nevermind! I have plenty of other cases for that.
And last, but definitely not least, my Ageha magazine that my friend Emmie managed to get this for me from Japan! I’m so happy that Ageha has made a comeback; the makeup is still a little plain but hopefully it’ll get more dramatic soon. Here are my favourite pages:
Gah I totally forgot that I bought this Liz Lisa sweater from the lovely Pixie! It’s too warm to wear right now, but at least I have something cute for autumn/winter.
I’m really happy with all of my buys! It’s just so nice buying lots of things but for really cheap prices tehe. I think I’ll be living off eBay for a while but it’s not a bad thing. I’ve got a few things I want to buy like frilly socks so I’ll upload more photos on my Facebook page and Instagram.
It was the International Day of Happiness a few days ago (or weeks, I’m really behind on blogging haha). I didn’t know about it until I read it on Facebook, and strangely enough it was a really good day for me. One of the main things was that my bby Chewiee came over to visit!
We’ve both been really digging into the whole Swankiss look recently, so when she came round we tried it out! I really want to be able to put together some Swankiss-inspired outfits but I’m still really nervous about dressing over-the-top cute ;_; So my outfit wasn’t really Swankiss inspired… I just wanted an excuse to wear my Sailor Moon fleece tehehehe~ Magical Girl Power! Hopefully next time I can put together a more Swankiss inspired coordinate, but today I am Sailor Gyaru!
I really love the way the shop staff at Swankiss incorporate lots of bright colours, especially in their eye makeup. I was starting to get really bored of just wearing shades of brown and blacks all of the time, so for that day I decided to go for blues and pinks tones. I also tried out eye bags! I used to think it was really weird and a bit painful to look out, but now I think it’s super cute!
Time for some selfies! The lighting in my room was so good that day!
We did a little shopping and I treated myself to a new dress that I think looks great with onee gyaru as well as a cute satchel-sorta-bag to go with my outfit! The rest were just some makeup necessities. It’s amazing how much makeup costs o_o Then we headed out to get some ice-cream! I got “Strawberry Blonde”.
My buys:
After that we just relaxed and then went out for some Chinese food in the evening before she had to go. It was so lovely to just chill out!
I’ve been thinking a lot about my style over the past week or so… Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never leave agejo completely, but I think it’s nice to dabble with new styles and right now I feel a lot more comfortable doing gal make & hair but ditching the brand clothes. I’ll see how this goes!
Alright I guess that’s it for today! Until next Sunday! ♡
