Gyaru Master Post: Important Links + Resources

Gyaru Master Post: Important Links + Resources

Hey cutie! How are you? ♡ I was just reading through some blog posts when I was suddenly inspired to create a lil’ list of gyaru resources! There are just so many informative posts out there that I thought it would be nice to have it all in one place rather than me just saving links in multiple Google Docs and Bookmarks haha. This list will include lots of gyaru resources such as tutorials, advice, as well as some articles on the history of gyaru. Okay, let’s go!

Btw – This list will be constantly updated as I find new things!

Super Easy Overnight Curls Hair Tutorial!

Super Easy Overnight Curls Hair Tutorial!

Hey cutie! Sorry I haven’t been so active on here lately… But I’ve been focusing on my YouTube channel for the past few weeks. I’m just so excited about creating video content! Next month I’ll be creating a lot more Christmas-themed content and I really can’t wait to show you. But today I want to share with you a super easy overnight curls hair tutorial! I’ve been doing this method every weekend for the past month or so now, and I’m just so happy that I’m able to achieve the big bouncy curls that my main inspiration, Chie, always has!

4 Super Easy No-Heat Hair Tutorials (That Anyone Can Do!)

4 Super Easy No-Heat Hair Tutorials (That Anyone Can Do!)

Many years ago I used to curl my hair with curling tongs, only for them to drop a couple of hours later. It took longer for me to curl them than for them to actually stay, so I have long since given up on doing them. I much prefer doing no-heat wavy hair tutorials over drooping curls any day! Not only does it mean that I won’t damage my hair, but it saves me time for having to style it before a gal meet. It’s a win/win situation and since you’ve asked me how I did it in this post, I decided to not only create a hair tutorial on how I get my wavy hair, but to also create some other no-heat hair tutorials that I do when I’m on the go!

Cute Ways to Transform Your Desk Space (+ Giveaway!)

Cute Ways to Transform Your Desk Space (+ Giveaway!)

cute desk, kawaii desk accessories, kawaii box review

I have never been known to have a tidy desk. You’d usually find it drowned under masses of paper, sketchpads, books, with my phone somewhere amongst the mess. It wasn’t until I moved in with my love that I wanted to put more of an effort into making my desk space really cute, and I try to do the same at work. So I’ve put together a list of cute ways to transform your desk space if you’re a lil’ bit stuck on what to do.

Easy Gyaru Hair & Makeup Tutorials Part Two

Easy Gyaru Hair & Makeup Tutorials Part Two

The thing that I made me fall head-over-heels in love with gyaru was that as long as your hair and makeup was done, you were gyaru. They are the most important things in this Japanese fashion and so I wanted to create a part two of my “Easy gyaru makeup and hair tutorials” series (especially with how successful part one was). This will be perfect for you if you’re thinking of adopting the everyday gyaru lifestyle or are on holiday and don’t necessarily have a lot of time to get ready.

Please note: these images were gathered from various corners of the internet – I don’t own them!

Lessons from 2015: How to Make the Most of Your Life

Lessons from 2015: How to Make the Most of Your Life

Hey cuties! How are you today? Did you have a good Christmas? (And to those who don’t celebrate – did you have a good weekend?)

Mine was pretty good! It was very chilled out and consisted mainly of binge-watching films and playing monopoly. It was the first time I had cooked Christmas dinner with my sis! I wish I took a decent photo of it… Oh well, maybe next time. I also finally got my hands on a Christmas jumper so I paired that with my cute Santa-cat tights that I got from Kawaii Gyaru Shop*. I kind of wish I could wear this sweater more than once a year…

The festive spirit really made me think about what I’ve done this year and I’m really happy to say that there’s been so many good things that had made me smile. There were some things that made me not-so-happy but I guess those times are there so that you could learn from them.

So instead of doing a post on everything I’ve done this year (as I had already written one back in June here) I’ve written a list on how to live life to the fullest from the lessons I’ve learnt in 2015.

I Wish I Was Better At… Gyaru Hair!

I Wish I Was Better At… Gyaru Hair!

I’ve been into gyaru for quite a while now but there was always something lacking in my appearance – the gyaru hair. Work and uni took quite a lot of my spare time so I haven’t been able to experiment that much, but with uni over I can hopefully try some new styles out! This idea was enforced when my girl Chewiee did my hair for Hyper Japan (see pics here) and I really want to focus more on my hair and get the basics down!

To help myself – and hopefully you – out I’ve compiled a collection of both video tutorials and picture tutorials. Let’s work on this together!

Gyaru Nail Art Inspiration for All Lengths!

Gyaru Nail Art Inspiration for All Lengths!

Yep, this week I’m going to be talking about gyaru nails (well, gyaru nail art). I realised that I buy way too many clothes and don’t really think about the small things that really make the outfit pop, and one of them is (or is it ‘are’?) the nails! I only have a few sets and I really want to start making some for myself. So I had a browse on Tumblr/Pinterest and gathered a few of my favourites.

I know it’s going to take me a while to actually get good at doing nails but I might as well look for inspiration! I’m going to split it into two sections – Dramatic & Short – because I can’t really wear false nails at work. I’ve also included some neat tutorials too at the bottom!

Please note: I don’t own any of the following images. Read my full disclaimer here.

Easy Gyaru Makeup & Hair Tutorials

There are times where I wish I could do gyaru at work. The thing is that prioritise sleep over slapping my face on with makeup, which makes those weekends for dolling up even more precious. However I do want to be an everyday gyaru wherever possible so I spent the last few weeks collecting lots of easy hair and makeup tutorials and then I thought… Why not share this collection with my readers?

Below you’ll find a whole set of hair and makeup tutorials that are great for the everyday gyaru/gal! I hope you find them useful!

Gyaru Romantic Makeup Tutorial!

Gyaru Romantic Makeup Tutorial!

Et voila, here is the long-awaited makeup tutorial done by the lovely moi (“makeup tutorial?” “Ah oui”).

I’ve been getting quite a few people asking me to create an eye makeup tutorial so I thought, why not? I had taken these photos quite a while back and didn’t really want them to gather dust, so I neatened the edges and created a picture makeup tutorial. The reason I’ve done a picture one rather than a YouTube video is purely because I really don’t know how to take makeup videos without obscuring part of my eye. I am really amazed at how people do it!

Now that I’ve decided on a day to post, I’m finding it really hard to choose what to post! I still have to create one on my New Years Resolutions, and then I’ve got a gal meet that I went to yesterday to talk about as well.

Kind of makes me think whether or not I should post twice a week but I know that uni work is gonna’ make that really hard to do. Ho hum pigs bum!

Anyway I hope you like this tutorial and find it useful!
