I’ve been into gyaru for quite a while now but there was always something lacking in my appearance – the gyaru hair. Work and uni took quite a lot of my spare time so I haven’t been able to experiment that much, but with uni over I can hopefully try some new styles out! This idea was enforced when my girl Chewiee did my hair for Hyper Japan (see pics here) and I really want to focus more on my hair and get the basics down!
To help myself – and hopefully you – out I’ve compiled a collection of both video tutorials and picture tutorials. Let’s work on this together!
Yep, this week I’m going to be talking about gyaru nails (well, gyaru nail art). I realised that I buy way too many clothes and don’t really think about the small things that really make the outfit pop, and one of them is (or is it ‘are’?) the nails! I only have a few sets and I really want to start making some for myself. So I had a browse on Tumblr/Pinterest and gathered a few of my favourites.
I know it’s going to take me a while to actually get good at doing nails but I might as well look for inspiration! I’m going to split it into two sections – Dramatic & Short – because I can’t really wear false nails at work. I’ve also included some neat tutorials too at the bottom!
Please note: I don’t own any of the following images. Read my full disclaimer here.
There are times where I wish I could do gyaru at work. The thing is that prioritise sleep over slapping my face on with makeup, which makes those weekends for dolling up even more precious. However I do want to be an everyday gyaru wherever possible so I spent the last few weeks collecting lots of easy hair and makeup tutorials and then I thought… Why not share this collection with my readers?
Below you’ll find a whole set of hair and makeup tutorials that are great for the everyday gyaru/gal! I hope you find them useful!
Et voila, here is the long-awaited makeup tutorial done by the lovely moi (“makeup tutorial?” “Ah oui”).
I’ve been getting quite a few people asking me to create an eye makeup tutorial so I thought, why not? I had taken these photos quite a while back and didn’t really want them to gather dust, so I neatened the edges and created a picture makeup tutorial. The reason I’ve done a picture one rather than a YouTube video is purely because I really don’t know how to take makeup videos without obscuring part of my eye. I am really amazed at how people do it!
Now that I’ve decided on a day to post, I’m finding it really hard to choose what to post! I still have to create one on my New Years Resolutions, and then I’ve got a gal meet that I went to yesterday to talk about as well.
Kind of makes me think whether or not I should post twice a week but I know that uni work is gonna’ make that really hard to do. Ho hum pigs bum!
Anyway I hope you like this tutorial and find it useful!
