Summertime Dreaming

summertime dreaming, kawaii gyaru shop review

I got this Liz Lisa dress from Kawaii Gyaru Shop* late last year as a little ‘welcome’ gift to when summer finally comes around. I waited for what seemed like ages, and the weather slowly began to pick up but it still wasn’t warm enough until finally we hit the end of May and it was time to wear it. It was Sod’s Law that I began to notice things that I would’ve changed in this outfit; like the fact I had a hair bobble on my wrist instead of pearl bracelets, and that this outfit would probably look super cute with a boat hat and with my hair in plaits instead of waves. I think it’s generally the life of a fashion blogger to notice these things, but at least I’ll be more prepared when I wear this again in future!

What can I say? I absolutely adore this dress. The lace trim, the puffed sleeves… I feel so dainty and princess-like, and I couldn’t help but do lots of little twirls in it! It has plenty of layers for when it gets a little cooler at nighttime… Would you believe these photos were taken at 8.30pm?

That’s the thing about summer; it makes you think you have a lot more time on your hands. Looking at the clock and seeing that it’s 8.30pm doesn’t make you think that you’d rather be in bed (like it does in the winter) and that you have all of the time in the world to get stuff done. It’s no wonder I feel so productive when it’s sunny!

On another note, I’ve been trying out eyelid tape again and I’m not too sure how I feel about it… I love that it makes my eye lids bigger, but sometimes I look a bit dopey haha. I had to break my “only take 10 photos” rule because I looked awful in most of them unless I looked away from the camera, but then you’d see the tape. Oh well! I am too lazy to edit that out, so I’ve left it. Anyone here use eyelid tape? Maybe I’m doing something wrong with it…

Like with all of my other review posts for Kawaii Gyaru Shop, I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who loves himekaji and larme kei. It’s so hard to get a hold of Liz Lisa items if you live outside of Japan and don’t want to pay extortionate service fees, and to be honest I don’t get my Liz Lisa items from anywhere else! So if you’re a fan, check them out, and take my discount code with you to knock those prices down a lil’ bit (LIZBEE).

Anyone else here love Liz Lisa?
